23/8/2022 10:42 | Brucie, are you aware what happened to ScS in their previous stock market iteration during the GFC. | essentialinvestor
22/8/2022 19:08 | As Paul Scott frequently says, it's a "better business" than SCS, but SCS has a different model - cash up front, and no debt. The latter continues to pays large dividends and buy back shares. | brucie5
22/8/2022 18:50 | I think this hits zero, or at least something materially close. They are funded by working capital, which is good because inventory is low, but not zero, they still need input materials. As orders dry up they have overheads and no cash flow. Then there is interest to pay and the debts to return. The share purchases are just denuding the companies balance sheet at exactly the wrong time. Their target market is going to be buying zero new furniture for at least the next 7 months. The households that can afford energy bills shop elsewhere. I've been short for a while, just never got around to looking at this board. Happy to hear counter arguments for why I'm wrong. | hpcg
18/8/2022 10:42 | The steady decline continues. Even with the massive share purchases. Could this hit 100p? | castleford tiger
10/8/2022 15:51 | I agree and think it will become a bid target. Massive headwinds when these energy prices hit people tiger | castleford tiger
10/8/2022 15:36 | Not sure but the last update said high end of estimate so 60m pre tax. They are doing better than pre Covid 2019. | gaffer73
10/8/2022 08:53 | gaffer didn't profit fall from 70 to 21m in first half. some serious cost pressures in 2nd part of this calendar year and next with price cap re fuel. its cheap for a reason. | castleford tiger
10/8/2022 08:12 | 60m profit, mcap of 350m? Looks very cheap. | gaffer73

05/7/2022 07:43 | In amongst the CFO leaving RNS:- ...is this little nugget:- Further to recent our Trading update and the successful completion of expected deliveries to our customers prior to year-end we now expect profitability to be in the upper half of the range for underlying profit before tax and brand amortisation previously indicated.* Ian Durant, Chair of DFS, commented: "I would like to thank Mike for his leadership as CFO. He has helped to navigate DFS through a period of significant challenge, including the impact of COVID-19, and leaves a resilient business well placed to grow in the UK. | cwa1

10/6/2022 10:35 | This business made 34.5p a share last year. Can they repeat it next year? If so, the p/er could reach 10 at least. A doubling of the share price would be on the cards. An opportunistic bid can't be ruled out either? | hooley
09/6/2022 10:10 | On the bright side, at least I'll get more shares when HL eventually get around to reinvesting my dividend. | gaffer73
09/6/2022 09:26 | After £21m pretax profit in the first half, today's statement indicates about £40m in the second half. The special div. paid recently doesn't fit with a worried board. With more buyers than sellers today, why the big mark-down in the sp? A price to earnings ratio of about 8 is modest. | hooley

09/6/2022 07:20 | Ok trading statement but revenue expected to be lower than the 1.4b figure from Q1. Profit before tax higher than pre Covid though so this should be 200p+ | gaffer73
