13/3/2019 13:25 | Will investors need to take a seat following DFS Furniture’s half year results on Thursday? Despite some very healthy figure, in January DFS said that it remains ‘cautious̵ Clearly DFS is very keen to manage investors’ expectations, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of tone the company strikes on Thursday. As for pre-tax profit, any kind of improvement on the economic anxiety and heatwave hit full year figures will be welcome. 11/1/2019 09:09 | Well they do keep opening stores, buying out competitors, working web channels etc.. doing all the right stuff, but yes it's a difficult macro situation. They often blame the weather so never easy to tell exactly what drags on their performance the most, but UK uncertainty will certainly keep demand and pricing suppressed. This isn't anything new for them though as they do appear to excel at sales in a discounting environment, with trading experience over many years. | cxs1
11/1/2019 08:32 | House sales have ground to a halt in Exeter, the last 3 months have been dire and the next 3 are looking the same. House hold debt is at an all time high. I think they only just managed to get that TU passed but won't be able to with the results statement a few months out. Just my thoughts on what I see. | loafofbread
10/1/2019 22:11 | I'm not sure I'd be inclined to purchase main living room sofas and chairs from IKEA, but would have a nose around DFS, so possibly they target different markets. Saying that I've never bought from DFS either! Loss of the CFO is always an obvious opportunity for news to creep out, well when the newer broom steps up, which is a worry. | cxs1
10/1/2019 21:13 | Any thoughts here? My local DFS in Exeter is always empty, especially now since IKEA moved in next door. MCap £460M and debt of £160M which is going up. Something has to give. | loafofbread
10/1/2019 07:52 | Good TU today, bit light on detail maybe. Sales up 10pc, profit forecast maintained. CFO off. | cxs1
02/1/2019 15:00 | It's all based on the Weather isn't it? ;) So, Winter trading can't have been bad at all so far! Oh hold on, handily, apparently Brexit / Trump sentiment has stepped in and hosed everything. Still prob come good here by April. | cxs1
04/10/2018 12:58 | The immediate drop with rapid recovery to previous close looked dubious, mms now letting their people get out quietly. share price will unwind further now until Christmas push. | cxs1
04/10/2018 12:30 | I think the company looks seriously overvalued based on these numbers. Tiger | castleford tiger
04/10/2018 07:36 | Poor trading fourth quarter, blamed on the heatwave. Can't have helped but these on going profit drops confirm the significant retail downtrend here. Div of 7.5p maintained this year, but looks increasingly precarious. Yet more stores opened. | cxs1
30/8/2018 22:21 | The full year results announcement will be on 12 September 2018. | ny boy

03/5/2018 08:04 | Peel Hunt reiterate Buy today and up target price to £3 from £2.50 must have been a decent Capital Market Day yesterday | wynmck
30/4/2018 16:01 | But are they effectively damning it with faint praise given the limited headroom to their revised targets and with their fairly long term perspectives? I'm out having traded it up from 175p, not too bothered about the next divi. | cxs1
30/4/2018 12:00 | and Jeffries upgrade to Buy today Capital Markets Day on Wednesday | wynmck
17/4/2018 14:31 | can't see a reason on fundamentals either why the share price is climbing but rise it did appreciably since end of March. Are they buying back shares ? Not to my knowledge but not a holder and not well acqainted with this one.Maybe the TV ads give the impression of a thriving business? | harvester
17/4/2018 11:07 | Peel Hunt upgraded to Buy last Thurs.... | wynmck
17/4/2018 11:05 | Retail storm has yet to get started in my opinion tiger | castleford tiger
17/4/2018 10:47 | I think they are now receiving brownie points for weathering the latest retail storm reasonably well, in comparison to some others. Made some interesting acquisition moves, and it appears the business is being managed pretty well given the climate. | cxs1
17/4/2018 10:34 | Something's boosted the share price recently, don't know what? | deadly |
