Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to help about the structure difference between A and Voting shares in this company.

Does the share price of the A shares compare directly with the voting shares? In other words, do both types of share correspond to the same % claim in the company as the other, and the only difference is the voting premium?

I notice the voting shares are down considerably today after those excellent results.

I think its just that the voters are less liquid and family arent sellers so they rise on small volume...I own the As so its a pain as these should be 4qd.

Don't these look a pound too low vs the ords?
This looks like cheapest stock in the market.

I hold the A shares and the yield and liquidity is better than the ords.
Lets put us on a pe of 8 x eps of say 50p (which is what Im hoping for) so 400p...so a pound higher for the As(or 380 As and 420 Ords)
We then have 10m qd cash and a freehold property worth 5m qd in for nothing!!
All my opinion but dirt cheap at 300p
Ive held these for 15 years and most years profits and dividends have been rising. Its a steal at 3qd and I think we will be 350p early December on the figs and then 5qd within a year.

Stunning IMS glad to see I am not alone in owning this stock . I went to the AGM in 2004 , charming family and you get a trip around the factory .

Not that I know of. I bought some more yesterday and moved the price. I think they're just very illiquid. By any standards they're cheap.

Great figures and typical conservatism which sounds as though it is merited. I still have great faith in this family team to provide good growth in the long term. Is the dividend increase more representative of how they feel.

I also still own these shares and over the long term have done me very nicely - though it has had major ups and downs. There's a very good yield and they don't make the mistake of many small companies of stopping investing just to produce a smooth stream of profits - you can't do that with small manufacturing companies these days. I also like their strong niche market positions. I can't see the family selling yet, but they don't pay themselves massive salaries so they have a major incentive to keep the dividends rising and the share price up.

you are not alone in owning these jabberstocky! ntav =combined market cap so some decent downside protection and a forward pe of around 4 looks ok to me!
a lot of the shares in family ownership and seymour pierce rate as underperform are the negatives but nice yield over the last year and i'll continue to hold in the hope that someone in the family wants to realise shareholder value at some point
