16/1/2012 16:14 | Yes i did say Chinese 'type' and not exactly Chinese but still 'Asian' nonetheless. I still think an great big element of caution needs to be applied. Anyway, nice to see a move back up here and lots of buying interest today. Are you in this and CSFG Steg? | cfro
16/1/2012 15:08 | Thanks Steg Jumped to wrong conclusion with words Chinese type. Malaysian... ic2... | interceptor2
16/1/2012 14:55 | IC2, For info CSFG isn't Chinese. | stegrego
16/1/2012 13:13 | I hadn't noticed CSFG, I will take a look out of interest, but I had promised myself not to buy Chinese stocks. Only owned two GNG and CHNS almost two years back, I think you need to be very quick to react if there is any doubt or ambiguity in the balance sheet etc imo. I guess there must be some cracking opportunities about, and I hope CSFG is one of them. Good luck ic2... | interceptor2
16/1/2012 10:09 | Surprised at all the buying going on this morning. I had to rush to the phone to make my top-up when i saw all that buying. Manged 10,000 @10.8p, so not too bad. Dont know if you have noticed or not, but i've bought a small holding in CSFG. It is a 'Chinese' type co with all the risks asociated with that, so dont know if you're interested or not but i believe that the potential rewards on offer offset the risks of dodgy accounting etc. | cfro
16/1/2012 09:06 | Strong buying transactions this morning, which makes this look like a good entry/top up price with perhaps a floor placed under the share price at this level. ic2... | interceptor2
15/1/2012 20:11 | Correct, Peter Lynch came up with the quote, but Warren Buffett often quotes this also. | interceptor2
15/1/2012 18:53 | Wasn't that Lynch? | investopia
15/1/2012 18:36 | GHF, thought these might appeal to you. Like you I am trying to keep my portfolio more concentrated, and also trying to buy companies that have nice strong balance sheets. DSN has net cash and very straight forward and uncomplicated balance sheet imo. Warren Buffett : "Only invest in companies so good that even idiots can run them, because sooner than later they will be" Thats one thing we don't have to worry about with Peter Gyllenhamer and Jan Holmstrom in control. ic2... | interceptor2
15/1/2012 14:24 | Thanks glasshalfull. Looks like a good entry point here and i do feel that this will do well from here. Totally understand that one cannot get into too many situations at any one time, i have the same problem myself. However please do keep a watchfull brief here. | cfro
14/1/2012 18:42 | cfro - Just responded to you on CSFG thread. Also wanted to let you know that DSN are on my watchlist. As I indicated on the ZULU thread at turn of the year, I required to concentrate my holdings and that means that I can't be in everything. DSN certainly look good value....1.48p EPS forecast this year and 1.97p next, which if achieved should see the share price substantially up from here. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
14/1/2012 18:21 | Hi guys, so there are a handfull of us here then. Just awaiting a trading update now. Hope we get one in the next couple of weeks. | cfro
13/1/2012 19:42 | Still here. Shame it's fallen, but hardly surprising given sentiment and the uncertain macro picture. We need company news, really. As things stand, can't see any fundamental reason to sell. To me, this is one to hold patiently until it plays out, but I'm relaxed as free carried in this one since the payout. | investopia
13/1/2012 18:43 | I am still here guys and always looking for good re-entry (top-up) points - good luck for 2012. Nobby. | norbert colon
13/1/2012 18:27 | Shame this has fallen back a little tho IC2. I was hoping that it would hold up at 11p, as it always looked it would. Nevertheless, i dont expect it to fall much further and will also be making a top-up at some point as i only own 20,000 shares atm. This boards rather quiet too, has everyone else sold up? | cfro
13/1/2012 13:21 | Couldn't resist a small top up @ 10.45p, using the mid price of 10p would make the PER 6.7 and 5.07. Since buying in at 11.25p in December I had suspected that the share price could retrace looking at the chart since April. First support is at 9.8p then stronger support at 8.5p. Will await the next trading update in March now with interest. ic2... | interceptor2
06/12/2011 18:40 | Sorry for the o/t yes cfro i'm here but sold my LRM as soon as it hit 12p for a 100% profit held for too many years at an average of 6p so glad to sell although there may go a lot higher. G.L.A. | battlebus2
06/12/2011 09:46 | Ditto that re LRM. Chance of a double whammy there :o) ic2... | interceptor2
06/12/2011 08:56 | Certainly NOT battlebus! Im sitting tight with my LRM and in fact my finger is hovvering over the buy button even as we speak. I take you are in here as well then? | cfro
05/12/2011 22:47 | Spending all that LRM profit guys ;) | battlebus2
05/12/2011 22:24 | Ahh thanks IC2, yet again you are on the ball!! :-) Its pretty obvious to me now you spelled it all out. So, cashflow is likely to be very strong this year. That would make DSN a fully fledged Zulu by the next set of results, provided everything goes to plan. As regards the chart. I agree it does look like its in a downtrend but take alook at the longer term 2 and 3 year charts and its actually right on a support area. So, very difficult to call really. I happy to come in at this level and add more as and when. | cfro
05/12/2011 19:16 | cfro, I have just had a closer look at last years cashflow vs EPS, and the only reason it was lower was a one off charge for the disposal of their share of the Taiwanese business of £1,174m. They did receive cash of £3,476m, but they had a book value of £4,617m to offset the gain. For a feel of what cashflow will look like to the full year, the last interims showed cashflow at £0.504m vs £0.097m the previous year. ic2... | interceptor2
05/12/2011 18:51 | Good to see you here cfro. It is an illiquid stock so just a modest amount of buying can move the share price You might remember a conversation we had about the pro's and con's of averaging down, well this an example where I have planed to average down if I have the opportunity. The reason is that I have been keen to buy here for some weeks now, but I had held off because the chart looked a lttle weak. Anyway lets hope I won't have the opportunity, and can pyramid in on some strong RNS releases. ic2... | interceptor2
05/12/2011 18:26 | Followed you in here with 20,000 @11.125. My buy seemed to move the offer up a little. This one has been on my watchlist for some time but i never got round to looking closer at it until today as it always failed my simple cashflow sieve. Thas the only negative i can see here is cashflow is lower than eps for the last year. Dont think it is a problem tho, as it is bound to come back stronger in this current finacial year and next imo. PE of 7.6 for this year and falling to less than 6 for next year. Net cash and positive relative strength as well as good margin improvement over the last three years or so and very good ROCE also. As you say IC2, we should get a Trading update in Jan, and could be an 'ahead'. | cfro |
