NobbyCheetah had no evidence and Baxter bought them. LID tried and tried and tried to get a positive result in a surgical trial but always failed. And Masimo is buying them. Edwards have been at this market for years and DEMG have had an evidence base for years so why are they going to buy DEMG now?MrC

You obviously haven't done your research properly if you are not aware of this major difference. DEMG took the approach of building the evidence base which is relatively costly and time consuming. Sadly that has meant that they have always had limited resources for proper marketing and the rest of the story is history. However, all the other players in the industry are fully aware of the massive advantage ODM has in surgery over the other technologies which is why a proper valuation will be achieved if/when DEMG is bought out. FWIW I think Edwards are the most likely acquirers as I know DEMG have had informally talks with them for years.

All just IMHO...

Love (generally) to see a 1 trade, it's too early for announcing results! Perhaps a BOD response to the potential takeover of Lidco?

... in which case the market comes down to a combination of cost and ease of use. HUP anyone?

Really? What NICE said in August and DEMG kept very quiet about was "the committee agreed that there was no clear benefit of one type of monitor over another. As such, interventions of COM were grouped for an overall comparison with conventional clinical assessment"That does not sound goodMrC

PPW doesn't have a single study showing that it works in surgery whereas ODM has I think 22 studies which have positive results. And of course the DEMG monitor can be used for PPW measurements too and really is by far and away the better technology. That is what Andy Mears is talking about and the insiders in the industry such as the people at Edwards are fully aware of that!

I will, Nobster, I willIntrigued that Andy Mears still thinks someone will buy this for the evidence base. That is certainly not what the latest NICE guidance implies. That says that DEMG's evidence is no better than anyone else'sDid you ask about that? Why no announcement?MrC

I had an email exchange with Andy Mears this morning. Suffice to say he see this as a positive development for DEMG. The company's value will be based on the evidence base not the current level of turnover, which is encouraging. It seems to me a takeover here remains more likely than not in the next 6 months.

And he also reminded me of the healthy cash position as previously communicated. Despite the known affects of Covid 19 on surgery the company is in a perfectly stable position.

Yet again DEMG comprehensively outplayed by LID. Utterly shameful

Anyway, I have held off on LID's interims compared to DEMG's but LID had sales of 6.2m and DEMG of 1.2m. That is five times higherAnd DEMG only needed to have sold 7,000 less to have rounded to £1.1m which would have made LID over 5.5 times higherI get there are different exposures to surgery between the two but DEMG has a great ICU product especially in ventilated patientsSo, why were LID able to generate £2,698k of monitor sales to the NHS in six months, up 12x on previous fist half? And why were DEMG only able to generate monitor sales of £16k, down from £19k?There was a windfall to be had and LID grabbed it. DEMG totally missed it. DEMG monitor sales in the UK were less than 150th of LIDWhy?Because they have spent over a decade failing to develop a new monitor. Why? What are they doing about it? Who is to blame? Who is sorting it out?But maybe also because they don't know how to sell? What is needed is:New chairNew, smaller, boardNew brokersNew monitorNew marketing storyNew business modelLID has done all the above, DEMG none of it and now DEMG have been shown to have been swimming naked for yearsMrC

Hi mrC2u, with the Sp in a tight range of 1.15- 1.50 I can only assume the few diehard investors with the deep pockets are here because of ethical reasons not necessarily for monetary gains!

I suppose it is encouraging that these have recovered a little. There seem to be a couple of diehard fans with deep pockets who must either know something we don't or believe they know something we don'tAny clues?MrC

Mornin janatha, understand where your coming from, most of the bod have bought or been given shares in Lou of wages more recently! Mms here have a strange system - the more shares that are bought they lower the deal price, now over 1m possibly 1.5m share bought and the deal buy price lowers from 1.379 to 1.366 I think it is, no wonder the Sp rarely goes up. We need Nobby back he normally appears when the Sp rises!!
