MrC, it is a bit odd. Tradition says that a yacht or ship should have a girl's name. However, tradition also says that it's bad luck to have girls or women on board ship.

Navies of days gone by were practical, and even though women were forbidden on board, somehow they could be found. Where there was a need, there was a market, so to speak.

One could take a more flexible approach to the naming of a (potential future) yacht and not insist on its being female.

ArfSorry for any confusion. I have neither a yacht nor a daughter.Yachts always seem to have girl not boy names, I know not why.It is all very confusing and difficult. Perhaps it will be for the best to settle for an 18p share price and forget the yacht.MrC

MrC, it depends on the size of the yacht.

I am now no longer sure if your girl which is a boy is actually a yacht, so would appear in the round-the-world race instead of the human race.
