Well got 70k and then had a limit order in on the remaining 30k at 4.5p, saw the trade and thought I had been filled, but alas someone else pipped me to the post.

Well that was a struggle, couldn't get filled on 100k buy at 4.5p so had to use different accounts and buy in chunks under 37.5k, got two away the third was stopped and no real online offer at 4.5p now.

A bit more solid news from Spain and Canada would be nice.

--> I agree, it would be good to see some developments from Spain and Canada.

You originally appeared to agree with buywell3 ("there is some truth in his statements") when he said that the EU and UK were a bust as far as Deltex was concerned. THAT's why I mentioned the management statement of "cash generative".

"Yet now arf concedes that the market is difficult regardless of the way management refer to the uk as cash generative."

No, I don't "concede" anything.

"difficult" and "cash-generative" are not mutually exclusive.

The reason is that the cost of manufacturing a probe is smaller than the sale price. Ergo, the individual market is generating cash, although the "administrative expenses" (management lifestyle and stuff) is rather large and they somehow aren't acquainted with the concept of a pay cut.

"Can a difficult market generate cash?"Never said otherwise."Can a market generating cash be difficult?" Ask arf, he seems to chop and change his mind. Keep digging now..

Can a difficult market generate cash ?
Can a market that's not growing, that was expected to grow, still generate cash ?

Such tricky questions, I think we need a PHD dissertation.

Or could just go talk to some business owners that have retired on generating cash in difficult markets.

Or read a GCSE management book.

Ww says.. The U.K. market has been difficult..... Arf says.. "you mean the way management refers to the U.K. as "cash-generative" ?"Yet now arf concedes that the market is difficult regardless of the way management refer to the uk as cash generative. With respect, your point is more Bart than Lisa.

wigwammer (7862) "4) market cap is near all time lows."

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! It's not the all-time low, it's the all-time low SO FAR.

I'm borrowing from Homer Simpson here. Some disaster has befallen the Simpsons, and Bart says, "This is the worst day of my life." Homer replies, "No, this is the worst day of your life SO FAR."

Cheery sod.

wigwammer (7858) "If you believe the uk has been anything other than difficult I suggest you read the statements again."

Yes, those statements where they say that the U.K. market is generating cash. That DOES NOT EXCLUDE the possibility that it's difficult, challenging, etc. It just happens to be difficult AND generating cash.

Parsons -Fair points - but many have been true during the price collapse. For example 1) they've always had traction, traction here and traction there 2) management have always come across well 3) management have regularly bought shares 4) the anticipated offer price for the business has fallen with each dilution.I think the reasons to buy now which are different to the past are 1) they are approaching a second crack at being free cash flow positive - if that happens then no more dilution 2) the probe has been redesigned with a wider beam - easier to place and keep in place - this may reawaken the interest of the sceptics 3) they are now diversified across three different markets - UK, continental Europe, USA, so more diversified risk.. 4) market cap is near all time lows.Hope that helps, ww

Well I averaged down yesterday in my SIPP once again !! I am of course well under water with this one but I am becoming convinced that they will get there for several reasons 1) the American market does seem to be gaining traction 2) management seem to be on the ball and are doing the right things to turn round the company despite the NHS in the UK 3) management have also put substantial cash into the business by partaking in the recent placing and 4) companies that have regular safe income in the medical sector are usually ripe for takeover by a larger outfit. If Deltex can increase sales to £8-£10m then with a great GP on the probe sales a larger outfit would pay a 3 or 4 times multiple to buy the company. This would suggest to me that a Takeover price of 3 to 4 times the current price could be possible inside a few years. IMHO of course !!! That would be good enough for me to at least get my money back !!! good luck all

The UK being difficult is probably something everyone agrees on.
Except that isn't the issue being discussed now is it.

However, I suppose this is pretty difficult to understand...

"Traction and the opportunities for accelerated growth are also growing in other potentially large export markets such as France, Scandinavia, Spain and Peru.

We are thus able to reduce further our reliance on the challenging UK domestic market while continuing to maximise the substantial cash returns we generate from the UK to invest in markets offering higher growth opportunities in both the short and long terms."

Clearly to be translated as the UK and EU being bust, if you use the Google English-to-Troll translater.

"er... you mean the way management refers to the U.K. as "cash-generative" ?"Er.. I have a large holding here. I know the story well. If you believe the uk has been anything other than difficult I suggest you read the statements again. Hope next week includes news about the new probe tip. This could be a highly underestimated development, given ease of use has frequently been cited as a reason for slow uptake.

Hi Yump,

I have followed the DEMG /LID saga for years, I did once upon a long time ago hold a few of these. Back in those days medical diagnostic equipment shares were a large part of my portfolio....arrggghhh!
What a way to learn patience and that everything always takes much longer as the hurdles are plentiful.

Anyway I have been following this for a while and couldn't resist a few today, yes it has dropped but it looks to definitely be at the lows and with finance in place, new US accounts being announced, the results figures already a known, it looks quite upbeat.
