"This announcement has been made without the consent of the PSFC Entities, as a potential offeror. There can be no certainty that any Partial Offer will be made, nor as to its terms."There is nothing firm or underpinning with this possible proposal or the level . The hope must be it flushes out a proper offer for the company or the currency division. The way the company said nothing with the statement then were forced into an rns by that CEO interview is either high end game playing or amateur hour stuff...difficult to know.

I don’t think there is a rational explanation other than the volume isn’t there in the market yet. It’ll take a bit of time but it’ll get there. I think it’ll keep nudging up to the floor you’ve mentioned.

Curious that there is a disclosed and willing buyer of 40% of the company at £1.25 and yet the shares continue to trade below that level by 15%. Surely this should be a new floor. Is the market saying that the bid is not a real, executable one and so ignore it? Can someone offer me a rational explanation. Buyer at 1.25 and a seller at 1.50. that should be the market surely?

Its an odd situation someone wanting 40% at a modest premium.Under takeover panel code over 30% gives you effective control..so with 40% they would be getting control for what is a modest premium considering the disposal and improved prospects of currency division. Not sure apart from creating a potential liquidity event for part of their holding what is in it for shareholders ...the company would end up with a dominant shareholder ( with board positions?) that might not be aligned with other holders. If they think the shares are cheap fine buy them in the market up to 29.9%...if they think as a new controlling shareholder they can add value that needs explaining. I note one party is linked to pensions..is that an angle?Either way it appears the interview in the evening standard talking of offers for the company by the ceo has prompted this announcement ..and it is likely premature...Best not let him speak to the press again as was disclosing price sensitive information!!hTTps://www.standard.co.uk/business/business-news/de-la-rue-in-talks-over-possible-sale-but-not-in-hurry-to-strike-deal-b1199644.html

Confident that the share value here will get well above the 1.25...... just a waiting game!

Could CA be tempted or Griffiths? A hedge of sorts. I agree it will set the hares racing.
If CA who have been instructed to wind up miss £1:25 and then authentication fails they will be lambasted.
Can’t see the panel taking it seriously. Too low ball.

"Partial offer at 1.25 for 40 percent" - can you enlarge?

It sounds as if it doesn't include Crystal Amber's 16.8%. That could make the 16.8% a better block, because the bidder would only have to negotiate with CA to get over 50%. (Or else negotiate with holders of another 10%. The bid would have to be at least £1.25/share.)

Edit: Okay, I just read the 15:36 RNS. Sorry.

This move is almost bound to flush out any other interested parties so watching this space could prove worthwhile

Partial offer at 1.25 for 40percent i guess its a good back stop incase the sale of authentication falls through, quite difficult to juggle the dynamics though. The response also confirms that talks are ongoing for the sale of currency. Encouraging all round. Quiet BB all things considered!

Very positive commentary and outlook for FY26 and FY27 especially on polymer which is much higher margin and CEO explicitly stated both production lines will be operating at capacity. Need to stay patient on this. A large willing seller CA ,at admittedly a much higher price of 150, I think is capping this right now. Just means earnings multiple will look better and better for a bid approach!

All good in the currency turn around but looks like the market was hoping for more on the prospects of selling that division too ..I'm not convinced that is still not very much the case but they have nothing nailed down yet any any talks would be very sensitive. In the meantime the improvement in trading and incoming order flow makes that division more attractive.I can see a sale and wind up of listed entity in the new year..in the meantime they appear decent fundamental value around current levels.

Currency fully recovered and going strong, perfect timing for a trade sale. Encouragingly no comment on its future but plenty of bullish talk on standalone prospects. I suspect Currency is now worth more than gbp150m

Strong outlook for currency justifies taking time to agree a potential sale of the division. Should be a market positive but will market impatience take it that way given no further M&A update or news on pension fund derisking which are probably intertwined.

Maybe £1:60 price that Davy is promoting and £1:50 from CA is on the low side now.
With currency strengthening and good news expected this week then £1:75 to £2 could be closer to the mark IMO

Wbodger yup, everything Richard Bernstein tweets about DLAR reiterates CAs £1.50 stance. Cheers for the clarity re Sabas short, makes a little more sense now.

Fingers crossed with the management, so far they're showing no similarity to the last few lots who would of made a fine job of destroying any positives.

Only Saba are left with a declarable short at the moment (0.87%).

The 2m+ trade yesterday @99p was bigger than Saba's position so there's still investors out there that doubt the deals or don't subscribe to the timescales.

You can read that? It could be anyone closing short positions. I would guess amateur short speculators cleared off long ago.
