06/5/2000 10:12 | Still holding too but they appear to be sinking back to bump along on the bottom of their price range. Their web site looks OK and if you look around, a lot of the other companies in their sector appear to be experiencing a recovery. Part of the problem with their business as I see it is that a web based model allows companies to pursue much higher levels of business at lower prices but if they all go in this direction, it could be a bit of a bloodbath. Action Computer Supplies is cutting prices and going for volume - there is only so much business around. It is very good for the consumer but tough for the businesses operating in that environment. Any views of this U Y G | upyrgunga
05/5/2000 00:18 | I'm relieved I'm not the only one still holding this share but I'd really like to know what PW thinks post results since it was his tip. I've tried once without success so at the risk of appearing pushy - are you out there PW? My opinion for what it's worth is that DTR reminds me of the Wace turnaround a year or so ago. That's meant to be positive by the way. | nhb

03/5/2000 17:18 | Still waiting also...Greystone seems optomistic on the other board. Feeling Dog Rufffff at the moment...:0) | cyclone
03/5/2000 17:03 | Woof! - Where's that new kennel .....:) | aquila
03/5/2000 09:59 | looked promising for a while but now neglected due to market girations. Needs some news to wake up the price . | upyrgunga

26/4/2000 15:10 | Picguru, spot on. regards, A. | aquila
26/4/2000 10:05 | I may be completely off track here but, are you sure a JV wasn't covertly mentioned in the final results. Todays 'Computer Reseller News' spends half of its front page discussing Mark Mulford's new ASP venture 'PortablePlace.com' which was illuded to in the results: ==================== Now that the restructure and divestment policy of the Group is largely complete Mark Mulford has stepped down as CEO to concentrate full time on investigating the possibility of developing an Application Service Provider (ASP) for business to business (B2B) applications in mobile computing and remote access. If successful this would capitalise and strengthen the specialities of the Datrontech Group companies in the high growth arena of mobile computing and communications. ==================== | picguru
26/4/2000 00:18 | Aquila, You are correct on jv's etc, I agree these are still a decent medium term hold and the elusive takeover would be great for everyone if it arrives!. pdm | pdm
25/4/2000 12:00 | Upyrgunga, could you post the gist of the letter? Sounds like great news , although Microsoft off a bit on the Datrontech bid rumour..;) A@evertheoptimist.co | aquila
25/4/2000 11:56 | Pdm, welcome back, no sign of the new kennel..regards,A. Ps. Value enhancement could of course come from a J.V. ? | aquila
25/4/2000 10:55 | These results were as expected, and although the shares 'appear' cheap, cheap 'techy' shares are now 10 to a penny now. I can't find any substance to back up any of the take-over rumours on this thread above. Unfortunately Datrontech are a complicated maze of businesses, many of them too small to make a splitting of the group value enhancing. pdm | pdm
23/4/2000 18:46 | OH NO.........My covers blown now Regards , MoneyTakeOverBags | moneybags
23/4/2000 18:11 | I got a letter from Schwab - DTR are asking them to reveal names of all shareholders - could be they are worried about stakebuilding. U Y G | upyrgunga
23/4/2000 17:40 | does anyone have any info on this company's intentions to diversify into e-commerce business as their former ceo has mentioned when stepped down last week that he plans to concentrate on this idea. is it going to lead to a recovery or is it worth taking a loss and getting out. I bought the stock at 25p. please share yr thoghts. | misha
20/4/2000 12:17 | Any thoughts PW? I'm still holding. | nhb

20/4/2000 00:00 | There's been a lot of buying going on during the last few days - including today. Makes me wonder if there is something else to come soon...... | greystone
19/4/2000 12:17 | PW, I imagine they are trying to avoid the market carnage..maybe they have omething to say apart from the results...? regards,A. | aquila
19/4/2000 09:42 | hmmmmm, all a bit fundamental, interesting change at the top and some bits in the Chairmans statement. Sentiment poor, looks like they're staying in the same kennel for a while, regards,A. | aquila |
