11/7/2018 10:11 | possibly a leak on tomorrow. I have no doubt last year was very strong but what will they say about forward bookings? Tiger | castleford tiger
11/7/2018 09:37 | Today lower again. Probably because of a report from Morgan Stanley. They note that thomas cook and tui may see weaker demand for overseas holidays, due to warm weather and the world cup. | raybox

09/7/2018 13:56 | It says that the airport is owned by AMP Capital | meijiman
09/7/2018 13:47 | Yes when you look at Leeds/Bradford population wise it must be 3/4 in the UK. airport would be suitable for third world or small US city. | meijiman
09/7/2018 11:31 | CT , I think Doncaster would be a very good idea, loads of unused capacity, good parking and I suspect j2 would be more than welcome by the management. | pjleeds
09/7/2018 11:14 | steve Interesting reading and I agree 100% about the airport. Lets start by saying David Laws has received several e mails from me and I have copied in PM. The airport carries about 4 m of which 500k are in the busiest month August. That is between 5/10% growth per annum of which just over half is down to JET2. Just over 60% traffic is JET2 2018 about 1.79m going up to 1.89m in 2019 ( summer figures) The reason I agree with you and have contacted PM is that all the good work done by the airline can be undone by poor service at the end of your holiday. I have queued from outside several time and my record was 1.10 m which was as long as the flight from Geneva ( yes it was winter) The airport is simply not up to it. I use it more than 12 times a year and as a member of the lounge I have been refused entry on several occasions due to them selling one day passes. Another e mail to David ( who I have to contact now to be sure I can get in ) So with another 737/800 there next summer it will only get busier. The walk down to the FARO gate which is in Cookridge in the plastic tunnel is shocking. Get some brass spent and sort it Leeds. I would have liked to have seen JET2 move 6 planes to DONCASTER as a warning shot. I shall raise it again at the AGM. I think you must have had a bad day with the staff as they are normally very good. Ask for or make a note of a name that sorts them out. Results I stick with my numbers but think we may beat them.I don't expect a bullish outlook ( they never do) How will the market react? I remain a big fan but growth will have to come from other airports as Leeds is FULL tiger | castleford tiger
09/7/2018 10:08 | regrettably your experience encapsulates the era of budget travel at many airports worldwide as they struggle with peak loading. not least usa. but it doesnt stop people flying. usually airline staff have NO influence on the airport ooerators, often givernment owned and badly run. For me, none of that undermines the dtg investment case but I fully understand your frustration. happened to me many times workdwide but I never thought of blaming thr airline | shaker44
09/7/2018 09:55 | My last word on the subject. LBA has appeared to be creaking to cope with the increased Jet2 business. This particularly shows to me on trips this year on airport exit. Lots of Jet2 staff but helpless to effect small, packed border control, and later the unacceptably slow baggage handling. In neither case did Jet2 staff take any interest in engaging with or updating their customers. We actually queued all the way from the aircraft. 45 mins later no baggage and Jet2 staff seeming unaware or uninterested in the situation. I would have expected them to provide attention and updates beyond the airport steps. 2 decisions for me. Stop using LBA. Sell out of Jet2 which have doubled for me following idea found on here principally from Tiger as they are heavily indebted/operational The flight was 30 mins late due to slots. Not a big issue. I had a flight tracker app/message as we boarded to advise the delay. We got various delay messages from the Captain subsequent to the text when all along we were going out at 13.26 as we did. As I said, good luck to holders but I am no longer. | steve3sandal
09/7/2018 08:15 | Sounds like airport issues to me. You'd be a fool to sell shares in company where the demand for the product is clearly so high. I doubt you'd blame a supermarket if the adjacent NCP car park was a shambles on the day. w1 | woozle1
09/7/2018 00:30 | With J2 or the airport provider? Passport queues, baggage belts, hot areas all airport providers. Did your plane land on time? Did you enjoy the flight (until disembarkation). Point the finger at the right people ! | hatfullofsky
08/7/2018 20:22 | Disappointing Jet2 service at LBA today upon return. It seemed to me they have pushed their volumes but the LBA infrastructure doesn’t support. The queue to passport control stretched from the aircraft. It was very hot in the glass tunnel with hundreds of passengers. 40 mins to pass the filly 6 manned border control. Diaappointed that baggage reclaim conveyor hadn’t even started. Jet2 staff in reclaim were unaware that 45 mins after landing no cases were available and only platitudes offered about them being busy. When leaving the other day the Jet2 check in hall was also heaving at 4am. All bag drop facilities were open but this didn’t stop the hall being near capacity. It rather looked future proofed when they built it, now it looks small. The good news is that Jet2 seemed to be running flat out, not so good, staff weren’t, lots of avoiding eye contact. The worst news is that LBA felt like it needed bringing into the 21st century. I had quite forgotten I had a very poor disembarkation with Jet2 and LBA a few months ago, another hour in various queues and standing around to exit the airport. The holiday was fine, reasonably priced Package and I have spent nearly £5k with them this year. however, I shall sell my shares tomorrow and I won’t use them again until I hear that it’s all fixed. Lots of other airports and airlines. Good luck all holders, figures may be fab but I felt cracks are appearing. | steve3sandal
08/7/2018 15:15 | From today's Guardian - doesn't bode too well for DTG, OTB etc and might explain some of the recent share price weakness: "Handyside said the weather had been a boon for domestic tourism. “When the sun came out on May bank holiday, the phones started ringing. May and June have been fabulous.” People had been booking foreign holidays in greater numbers than last year, David Hope, a director at GfK, a market research firm, said. But he added that since 20 June, foreign holiday bookings are down by 7% compared with last year – a swing of 13%." | sf5
08/7/2018 14:04 | 4 days to go for the results CT at 125m 70p EPS 70 or better I'm at 72.3 EPS That at current price is 17x expected earnings Is that enough to push to 10 quid ? With what will probably be a cautious trading commentary for this year. After picking up shares in the last sell down i'm trying to see what's going to give a big pop. Maybe the commentary is negative for general trading conditions but if PM is confident in exceeding market expectations for 2018-19 that would give a nice run I think ? It may be a buying opportunity if it follows last years response to numbers Snorkel | snorkelparker

30/6/2018 12:11 | “Does anyone have a good insight into the political situation? I can’t find anything online.” FT and BBC would be good start??? Kuenssberg at the BBC for analysis. | doogle99
30/6/2018 11:57 | Unfortunately “freedom&rdquo It’s renegotiating all of UK’s international agreements too. This is my area of concern. UK-US flights don’t effect DTG directly but Open Skies is only one aspect. Trade wise, Trump busy carving out US positions. | doogle99 |
