Oaks,

Have now found the data that was missing.

Despite past tax losses, Beeson's have assumed a 37% tax rate for 2003 and 2004.
They have then taken off the 6.5% dividend to the convertible participating shares. (Danky includes these as part of financing/share capital; no wonder I missed them)

Beeson's report states:
'We have excluded from net debt the US$214m of 6.5% convertible participating shares on the Group's balance sheet including these as part of equity. These shares are entitled to a 6.5% dividend paid in additional participating shares until 2004 and then is cash. The shares are convertible at a conversion price of $3.11 (currently 214p), implying the issue of 80m shares, equivalent to 32% of the issued share capital. On or after December 2003 through to December 2010, the Group has the option at any time to redeem the shares in whole or in part for cash at the greater of the redemption price per share or the value of the underlying shares (or alternatively by conversion into shares). If not redeemed before, the Group is obliged to redeem the shares in December 2010.'

Their figures therefor are as follows:

2003 2004
PBT £ 36.1 66.7
Tax @ 37% 13.4 24.7
---- ----
22.7 42.0
Dividend to Conv @6.5% 11.2 12.0
---- ----
Due to Ord shareholders £ 11.5 30.0
==== ====
No. ord shares (my est) 254M 254M
6.5% Convertible shs 80M 80M

eps exc Participating 4.52p 11.83p
eps fully diluted 3.44p 8.99p

Without any tax these figures would be
eps exc Participating 9.78p 21.55p
eps fully diluted 7.44p 16.39p

Hope this helps

I hope Danka will drop to 28c so we all will start from the same lowest price ever .......... :-)) Sorry, even funny fans did not expect Danky went down that low today as he said in Yahoo. You can't explain with TA but Dow is down at 8800-ish. We will talk about FTSE to be tested under 4000 mark. Sound crazy but everything can happen. Good night.

one of the guys on the yahoo board has spoken to the vice president of danky. He was adament that the share price drop was nothing to do with danky. Nothing has changed from what was highlighted in the last quarterly results. He particulary stated that last time they issued an announcement was when it moved during very high volume. This is the case this time - low volume

here is his text :

"That's what Sanjay said to me,,,that the volume wasn't abnormally high. I think it was that you'd know something real serious leaked out. He told me more than once in our conversation that this had NOTHING to do with DANKY"

A CUT FROM YAHOO
MR SOOD I UNDERSTAND IS VICE PREIDENT OF DNK IN THE US

JUST NOW I HAVE RECEIVED A REPLY TO AN EMAIL SENT TO MR SOOD ONLY A FEW MTS AGO

Thank you for your interest in Danka. In order for us to treat all our
shareholders fairly it is our policy to speak to everyone publicly when we
make disclosures concerning our earnings. We are in the process of closing
the books on our fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2002 and anticipate
that we will issue an earnings release in early August, which is our
customary timetable. For reasons I am sure you can understand, it is not
our policy to comment on short term movements in our stock or rumors.

Best regards,

Take the worst scenario.
IF keep falling till Friday, surely Danky/DNK may drop over 50%.
Statements must come out and will be forced by FSA.

IF bouncing to $2.50 then shorters will have party.

i hate this internet malarky. keeps you glued to the price, watching the second by second movement. We will have a whole generation investors dying suddenly at the keyboard due to stress. at times like these I want to go away and come back 6 months later - but this beast called the internet wont let me.
