29/1/2002 08:10 | Any views on the poor opening? | redman2
29/1/2002 08:01 | webley, the mid price on a spread of $2.35 to $2.47 in the US equates to 43.1p a share here, not 40.1p | photon
29/1/2002 07:24 | Bear in mind that the last buy on nas was NOT at 2.47, that "ask" price is purely hypothetical, as is a "mid" price based on it. | bbbb
29/1/2002 00:58 | Results hopefully tomorrow or wednesday, as need to catch the QXL Q3 results train mid-week. | erdmanski
29/1/2002 00:39 | forfaiter, What share price are we looking at should they announce a profit during Q3? | erdmanski
29/1/2002 00:38 | A good chance of turning in a profit. They broke even in Q2 before exceptionals which is their weakest quarter. Ebitda was 6% of revenues at about £16m with the sector average being 10-12% so room for improvement through further cost cutting. They sold the the NZ division which was a poor performer. Interest rates are lower. Secured a couple of big contracts one for $100m over the next 3 years. imho | forfaiter
29/1/2002 00:19 | My estimate based on strong order pipeline, and streamlined expenses; Profit £50 mln. stg. | erdmanski
29/1/2002 00:18 | It feels like the board have got something up their sleeve. What are everyone's opinions on the chance of Danka reporting a profit or a reduced loss? | jbat
29/1/2002 00:17 | US seems to be positive, looking strong for this afternoon. | erdmanski
28/1/2002 21:44 | Bid 2.35 Ask 2.47 at close Mid price = 40.1p Over 1.3 million traded For all those who rely on people to update this board with nas trades during the day please be aware. On US sites the headline % that is easily seen - and passed on to us on this board - refers to the last trade. Therefore, the "headline" % can change quite dramatically depending on whether it is a sell or a buy. Eg at the moment nas shows 7.8% up, but this is the last trade, a sell, at 2.35. To all those who have kept us up to speed with streamed us prices - thanks, it is most appreciated. | webley
28/1/2002 21:06 | +9% right now | redman2
28/1/2002 19:58 | volume is slowing after 1M trading, could take a bit longer for another rally. | oaklandsway
28/1/2002 19:51 | Agree. Might close +5% on NASDAQ, there's probably one more round of topping up to do before results. QXL's looking good for next week. (A giveaway at 2.3p) | erdmanski
28/1/2002 19:45 | 2.37 on 1.1 million, easeing back might have chanse to go in again tomorrow as all indieces are down and still falling. | cinoib
28/1/2002 17:59 | wonder if this news will help DNK move up NEW YORK (AFX) - Xerox Corp shares were sharply higher at midsession in a positive response to the company's positive fourth-quarter earnings and news that it expects to meet first-quarter and full-year earnings estimates, dealers said. At 12.15 pm, Xerox shares were trading up 86 cents at 10.76 usd, a gain of 8.7 pct. The DJIA was down 12.11 points at 9,827.57, the S&P 500 was down 2.87 points at 1,1304.41 and the Nasdaq composite was 1.03 points lower at 1,936.67. Earlier, Xerox reported a fourth-quarter loss per share of 1 cent, an improvement on the four-cent loss per share posted a year earlier and in line with the First Call/Thomson Financial consensus. Excluding exceptionals, the company had EPS of 15 cents, against a loss of 25 cents in the year-earlier period. Chief executive Anne Mulcahy said Xerox is comfortable with analyst estimates for the first quarter and expects to return to operating profitability in 2002 as cost-cutting and other restructuring measures implemented last year take effect. The range of estimates complied by First Call/Thomson Financial stretches from a loss of 3 cents to breakeven for the quarter. Mulcahy said further cost-reduction measures and new product launches are expected to offset continued pressure on revenues and any disruption caused as the photocopier company makes the transition to third-party equipment financing. Merrill Lynch analysts said the results were better than expected and reiterated its medium and long-term 'buy' rating on the stock. "We believe Xerox will continue to benefit from its turnaround programme and improving economic conditions in the latter half of 2002," they said. "Longer term, we expect Xerox to capitalise on growing demand for color printing and planned product upgrades." cl/gc NNN For more information and to contact AFX: www.afxnews.com and www.afxpress.com p: | bigpat
