14/5/2002 14:03 | Nasdaq should do very well today. US April retail sales came out at +1.2% when the market was expecting 0.5%. | easykill
14/5/2002 13:40 | Cinoib, Don't worry about that, look at the big picture, unless you are a shorter?! | 357aman
14/5/2002 13:28 | We need at least a 15c open in the states to hold this mornings nice little rise, any less and we'll see it drift again. | cinoib
14/5/2002 13:18 | Guys, if theses guesses were anywhere near the mark, I think we would have seen the price shifting north pretty rapidly (and holding the gains). The results are pretty much done and dusted by now, mainly just the wording left (if the results are to be released within the next two weeks as the co. says). It is very unlikely that there will be any major change to the results this late to release date. | gorgeous george
14/5/2002 13:11 | hi oaks can you do me a favour and check out pmo said to be breaking out thanks in advance | sigora
14/5/2002 13:03 | we are in positive territory. just hope our DANKY mates across the atlantic dont spoil the fun again. | easykill
14/5/2002 11:50 | Psychic Bullrally from across the pond is guestimating .1197c Net Income EPS and .1797c Operating EPS. if these extrapolations by mathematical progression are anywhere near accurate they should be received positively and we'll fly! see below for full 2 posts Jim28 ???Earnings Expectations??? Net Income by: bullrallystocks (42/M/™ ®) Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Buy 05/13/02 11:28 pm Msg: 25715 of 25722 I expect we will have an Earnings Announcement. Seems like a lot of people place emphasis on the date of release. It makes no sense to dwell on a date. It Will happen, it is Top-Secret. I/R will Not give a specific date to anyone, so nobody knows. Why not change the focus to Earnings Expectations. My Expectations based on increasing Profit Margins, reduced SG&A expenses, reduced Interest payments based on Debt Reduction from sale of DSI ...etc... Sale of DSI will Reduce Revenue, DSI made up approx. 15% of Danka's Revenue (Leaner and Meaner Approch) I Expect a Decline of 15% in Revenue over the same time last year based on DSI sale. This will be offset by a Reduction in Long Term Debt. so its a wash. Unless sales are absolutely Booming. Expect it. Using Mathmatical progression to get in the Ball Park: Net Income From Continuing Operations Dec. 31, 2001 = $561,000 Sept. 30,2001 = ($1,876,000) June 30,2001 = ($13,156,000) Last 2 Quarters average Improvement is: (13,156,000 + 561,000) / 2 = 6,858,500 So December quarter of 561,000 + 6,858,500(avg imp.) = 7,419,500 Estimated Net Income From Continuing Operations = 7,419,500 7,419,500 / 62,000,000 shares = .1197 Net Income EPS There are Many other factors in Play, this is a Ruff Ball park estimate not taking much of anything else into account. Just something to think about.BRS Operating Income using the same Mathmatical Progression. Period Ending: Dec 31, 2001 = $7,030,000 Sep 30, 2001 = $4,213,000 Jun 30, 2001 = ($1,190,000) 2 quarter Average Improvement: (1,190,000 + 7,030,000) / 2 = 4,110,000 Last Quarter Operating Income December 31,2001 7,030,000 + 4,110,000(avg imp) = 11,140,000 11,140,000 / 62,000,000 = .1797 Operating EPS | jimmy28
14/5/2002 11:43 | Good Morning Oak How is life? I hope every good thing happen to you mate. All the time! | 357aman
14/5/2002 11:14 | Yes but of late analysts have been wrong and there is no reason to suggest that analysts have a clue about any businesses forward earnings projections as they are purely that-projections. Analysts tend to say what suits their opinions at any given time. | millionaire
14/5/2002 11:12 | psych you are right, however i am talking about forward looking statements, not necessarily specific earnings projections (that is the analyst's job). | easykill
14/5/2002 11:06 | from my recllections the company does not make any forward projections but it does not prevent them from making one this time, i think any figure in excess of 5c eps operating income for this quarter will be taken as good and anything less we are not going to see any significant rises, between 1-5c price will remain much the same imho, anything more than say 10 and we will fly for sure | psychicdoc
14/5/2002 11:00 | miata i think what will be most important in the results is what the chairman/ceo says about future prospects and outlook - the forwarding looking statement. If that is positive then wooooosh. | easykill
14/5/2002 10:52 | Team, can we build a consensus on what will constitute good results so we know when we see them. What figure in $ for operating earnings from continuing operations for the fourth quarter will fire Danky through $5 ? | miata
14/5/2002 10:45 | the donkey wakes up !! | easykill
14/5/2002 09:05 | it is not a question of ethnic bashing just an opinion, but one based on reason and fact. No offence intended and no obscene comments made. | millionaire
14/5/2002 08:49 | johnnyamerica I think we should set the yanks an example, by the quality of discussion on this board and moving the price north :0) | serious punter
14/5/2002 08:46 | My, how quickly this turns from discussion of a stock to ethnic bashing. If you just eat the hamburgers and watch the TV shows, that's all we ask. | johnnyamerica
14/5/2002 07:58 | matt a lot more buys than sells though, 15th seems to be the consensus for earnings, do remember that on good results price may rise rapidly and then mms will make it fall on profit taking so that is the time when you need to hold your nerve, i hope everyone remembers what happened the last time | psychicdoc
14/5/2002 07:57 | matt1231 What's wrong with a bit of profit taking? IMHO if that punter is hoping the price will drop in order to get in again, he/she may be on a sticky wicket :0) | serious punter
14/5/2002 07:46 | I cannot believe that the yanks are shorting Danka and that end of day 100K sell here in the UK doesn't help matters either. | matt1231 |
