US April retail sales came out at +1.2% when the market was expecting 0.5%.

Guys, if theses guesses were anywhere near the mark, I think we would have seen the price shifting north pretty rapidly (and holding the gains). The results are pretty much done and dusted by now, mainly just the wording left (if the results are to be released within the next two weeks as the co. says).

It is very unlikely that there will be any major change to the results this late to release date.

Bullrally from across the pond is guestimating .1197c Net Income EPS and .1797c Operating EPS.

if these extrapolations by mathematical progression are anywhere near accurate they should be received positively and we'll fly!

I expect we will have an Earnings Announcement.

Seems like a lot of people place emphasis on the date of release. It makes no sense to dwell on a date. It Will happen, it is Top-Secret. I/R will Not give a specific date to anyone, so nobody knows.

Why not change the focus to Earnings Expectations.

My Expectations based on increasing Profit Margins, reduced SG&A expenses, reduced Interest payments based on Debt Reduction from sale of DSI ...etc...

Sale of DSI will Reduce Revenue, DSI made up approx. 15% of Danka's Revenue (Leaner and Meaner Approch)

I Expect a Decline of 15% in Revenue over the same time last year based on DSI sale. This will be offset by a Reduction in Long Term Debt. so its a wash. Unless sales are absolutely Booming. Expect it.

Using Mathmatical progression to get in the Ball Park:

Net Income From Continuing Operations
Dec. 31, 2001 = $561,000
Sept. 30,2001 = ($1,876,000)
June 30,2001 = ($13,156,000)

Last 2 Quarters average Improvement is:
(13,156,000 + 561,000) / 2 = 6,858,500

So December quarter of 561,000 + 6,858,500(avg imp.) = 7,419,500

Estimated Net Income From Continuing Operations = 7,419,500

7,419,500 / 62,000,000 shares = .1197 Net Income EPS

There are Many other factors in Play, this is a Ruff Ball park estimate not taking much of anything else into account. Just something to think about.BRS

Period Ending:
Dec 31, 2001 = $7,030,000
Sep 30, 2001 = $4,213,000
Jun 30, 2001 = ($1,190,000)

2 quarter Average Improvement:
(1,190,000 + 7,030,000) / 2 = 4,110,000

Last Quarter Operating Income
December 31,2001
7,030,000 + 4,110,000(avg imp) = 11,140,000

11,140,000 / 62,000,000 = .1797 Operating EPS

Yes but of late analysts have been wrong and there is no reason
to suggest that analysts have a clue about any businesses forward
earnings projections as they are purely that-projections.
Analysts tend to say what suits their opinions at any given time.

you are right, however i am talking about forward looking statements, not necessarily specific earnings projections (that is the analyst's job).

from my recllections the company does not make any forward projections but it does not prevent them from making one this time, i think any figure in excess of 5c eps operating income for this quarter will be taken as good and anything less we are not going to see any significant rises,between 1-5c price will remain much the same imho, anything more than say 10 and we will fly for sure

i think what will be most important in the results is what the chairman/ceo says about future prospects and outlook - the forwarding looking statement. If that is positive then wooooosh.

a lot more buys than sells though, 15th seems to be the consensus for earnings, do remember that on good results price may rise rapidly and then mms will make it fall on profit taking so that is the time when you need to hold your nerve, i hope everyone remembers what happened the last time

I cannot believe that the yanks are shorting Danka and that end of day 100K sell here in the UK doesn't help matters either.
