Hi NTG. What WERE most on here predicting. Seemed to me to range from fund-raise to sale of a stake in CC India to a complete takeover. Orders never seem to have much of an impact no matter how big they are but today's move and the Zeus demand which was mentioned earlier suggests it could be quite significant whatever it is. We shall see, but I agree that the long-term holders like myself (and probably most on here) really do need a break. I am hoping that the absence of anything from the company supports the idea that 'no news is good news'. Whatever happens, the best of luck to all of us. We deserve it, as, I think, do the board, who have worked hard to get us here. |
I won't hold my breath.....

It certainly doesn’t make it look like the next news to come is what most on here were predicting.. 😂 |
There may NOT be trouble ahead...?? |
The strength of today's move, relative to the inertia of the past few months, suggests to me that this may be about more than just another Montecarlo 1m order. Who knows, but I recall someone on here saying a while back that they tend not to release good news on a Friday as it has less effect than at the start of the trading week. Personally, I'll take good news whenever it comes. GLA. |
“ I think the long termers deserve some good luck for keeping the faith”
Never a truer word spoken. Fingers crossed
Best regards SBP |
Hi DTB...I'm obviously as in the dark as anyone else posting here so I can't say what's prompting the recent buying but happy to see it. As for the spread, like others on the thread, I use dummy trades to establish the true underlying spread which is usually much tighter than the market quote and can produce different prices for different volumes.
Nasty whiff about this buying as usual but at least it's up. I just wish I'd carried on trading it like I used to rather than holding as an investment and being constantly put through the wringer with false dawns and fund raises. I think the long termers deserve some good luck for keeping the faith. GLA |
1v3 sing now chasing stock. Volume not exceptional. Large buyer in background perhaps? |
Zeus happens to be the house broker.... |
L2 is 1v1. Zeus aggressively bidding for stock. Panmure only one left offering at 10.2p. |
Tell me gl23, as a close observer of the action, what's driving the share price up? It's not news, clearly. Is it shortage of stock? Latest buy is at 10.20p. |
So, is that it? Firework display over? Let's hope there's an encore. |
Advised by who ? |
Big news brewing, advised to buy all available stock at current low levels. |
Just showing up now. That spread is improving. The 8.8p to sell seemed a bit of an outlier relative to the trades. As did the 9.5p to buy. However, nice to see some blue on the board now. Interesting. News coming soon? |
Buys at 9.5p now. Well timed post DTB. |
Morning gl23. In the midst of the deafening radio silence, can you explain to me the significance of the large spread? As you say, some decent-sized trades gone through this week but none, as I recall, anywhere near the 9.5p mark. |
Encouraging buys going through of late, including 2x600k today reported late @ 9.2p and 9.39p. That said, these 2 trades could have been some sort of rollover although there was 20 odd minutes between them.
Whilst us retail investors never like to see insider trading, let's hope this recent buying is at least a precursor to some good news on the near horizon. |
Morning all. Has anyone had any luck contacting the company recently. Seems to be a distinct lack of courtesy in responding to communications. So much for improving investor relations. Some kind of progress report is sorely needed. IMHO. |
Hi Cousin; agreed, Katie Potts has been a great UK tech torchbearer and this Herald/Saba situation looks very dangerous and could have vast long term repercussions on investability across UK small tech. Saba seem to have aggressively bought shares in the market to march-up the share price and eliminate the historic discount to NAV - then force an acquisition vote - but only settle the acquisition cost AFTER they have trashed the underlying shares (including CC) and hence NAV. .You COULD admire Saba audacity - but not their morals IMHO. If the worst happens, hopefully Axia have deep pockets and CC have enough good news to see off the threat. |
Tightfist, that is a very good point.
Katie Potts has been a great investor over the past 30 years or so and a champion of the more innovative parts of UK plc.
The recent Miton selling would be chicken feed (in general) compared to Herald liquidating some £400m of UK small caps. Would imagine a fair amount would be through bids, but likely at lower prices than otherwise... |
On a different theme, is everyone tracking developments at Herald (HRI) who I believe own 6% of CC equity. The HRI board fighting a hostile Bid by Saba, and put out the following warning this afternoon:."(HRI) Board notes that Saba is not proposing to offer 99% of the value of today's net asset value. Instead Saba is proposing an exit after "at least a year" during which open-ended time period significant value could be lost from the underlying portfolio in anticipation or consequence of Saba's known selling appetite".IMO this could easily become a blood bath for CC and the UK small tech sector....the beneficiaries being Saba |
Hi SBP. I was invested in CC at that time (and long before it) but wasn't part of the share chat. Quite glad now as it might have been a bit embarrassing. That said, given all we we've heard over the past months, you would have to assume that significant progress is being made, given that they reiterated their confidence that we would meet market expectations and no doubt used that as a carrot to encourage take up of the latest fund-raise (which some on here, I believe, were involved in). I agree with NTG that the communication with investors has been dismal but I am hoping that something juicy is being negotiated behind the scenes which will make this wait worthwhile. But, JC, if you are reading this, it is time to remember your faithful 'groupies' and get some decent news out. Like, tomorrow or Monday. |
