It's perhaps worth pointing out that revenue up from 1.17 million to 4.7 million is a four fold increase but a 300% increase not 400% as stated in their trading statement.

I think that's the same poster who just doesn't understand that R&D spend will be an ongoing burden regardless of whether or not Cyan manages to find takers for its offerings. "Forecasted" revenue from Cronin's pipeline doesn't unfortunately pay for that R&D spend. That R&D spend has to happen if Cyan want to keep any dream alive of staying in the game. In a nutshell that is the problem. Endless dilution of current shareholders to keep the show on the road has been the go to answer for Cronin. Lack of alternative funding so far says all for Cyan's prospects. Maybe a takeover by a wealthier competitor will be the end game which I believe was Cronin's aim all along, but with no hint of the SP's steady decline ending anytime soon, I don't see any rush there tbh. The long term holders here deserved so much better than what they have been dealt. GLA.

Hi,Surely the Indian market is initial-price driven, rather than functionality driven? The global market may be feature-driven, this seems to be the focus of the external Big Players? It seems to me that Cyan can reach the features vs. price point within India now that Omnimesh is available, and they are under continuing price pressure to reduce prices to that point? (ie being hung out to dry by India Inc).Meanwhile the indigenous wanna-be's are getting better and better, which is the technology obsolescence risk within India. I just wonder if the Beijing Instruments deal was to mitigate that risk in the export market?Don't forget the pending cash stream from UK SMIIP Midlands & South Not-Spots: any news of progress on that anyone?,Cheers, tightfist

Cyan will need to keep upgrading their offerings to merely keep in the fast moving game of technical advances led by the big players. Paltry revenue to date suggests their offerings are fairly low down on the list of what is currently sought and required in their chosen markets. It was hoped the Connode IPV6 integration would both see substantial revenue increase and alleviate unaffordable R&D spend, but evidence suggests any profitable impact for Cyan has not been forthcoming. I suspect Cronin was hoping for much more. With the genuine world leadership status he so badly craves comes ongoing substantial R&D spend which elusive revenue suggests Cyan can little afford. World leadership status will remain a Croninism unless he can find substantial funding from somewhere. No guesses from where he will look to yet again for that much needed cash. GLA

That might have been a smart (no pun intended) move given the never ending amateur performance of this crock of a company.

Somebody sold today at 7.8p a share.

They clearly haven't been reading this thread.

Omnimesh is a cant do without solution in the same way that the magical cyan chip was. It never ceases to amaze me that some believe this tripe as gospel.

I have been negative on this stock for as long as I can remember, but I think it is now beginning to turn the corner. The order book(actual) is looking real and accelerating. Development cost have all but finished and cash burn will fall massively in 2019. Worth a punt IMHO

Hi John,

Agree that the contract size per se, is not huge. It is the demonstration of billing efficiency to the discoms and their learning from that insight and implementing change, is what is a very interesting development to me. Others will soon follow suit - I imagine it is a small world in the energy sector in India and people will be talking and learning from each other.

A very positive development !

Small but welcome increase in revenue but I thought the most interesting point concerned the “dramatic improvements in billing efficiency” seen as a result of the current installation. I know this has long been touted as an advantage of smart meters in India (and other places where there are high ‘non-technical losses’) but is this the first time it’s been demonstrated in practice?

According to some geezer over at the glee club Omnimesh has got the industry excited. Cyan has the industry excited?!! Of course they do. Google, Amazon other household names with real iot products and leadership must be shaking in their boots.

Thanks davep4, the last few lines go some way towards addressing my fears about IP leakage to BI and also ceding our SEAsia market potential to them.At the highest level I see statements that the Chinese are suddenly transforming to a culture of IP-integrity; sorry, their cavalier attitude is totally ingrained IMHO.Cheers, tightfist

Oh my. Thought I would look in on this just now and it’s good to see that this world leading crock is doing its special world leading thing. Down we go. Good news is that no one from the world leading Team Cyan is sacked for this train wreck.

Must be time soon for bonuses or time for more options?

I believe that all the asymmetric key does is to identify the module to the head end software, which will, in turn, verify the qty of modules manufactured by BI. There is no IP in the modules, it all in the headend software, which is under the control of CC.

One presumes this asymmetric key is meant to reassure Cyan directors/shareholders that there is an element of oversight about technology transfer? In practical terms, it must surely be feasible to take the technology and engineer around the asymmetric key?
