I'd love to invest in the company but Lapthorne and his cronies are skimming off too much in salaries and fees: their snouts are stuck in compensation trough. Not content with the generous NED salaries for a company of this size, they are charging fees for consultancy etc. w1 |
well hopefully someone else will see the value in taking it over, firing the lot of them and increasing profitability?! |

All good QS!, let’s hope steady progress in their new markets come to fruition!, all positive for the future share price! |
Thanks hmt. This has been on the watch list for a while. Decent RNS today, albeit jam for the future, but something other than that IMO must have driven the spike. Good luck with it and have a good rest of the day. QS99 |
If there is an good news behind this rally, the regulator needs to be ready to investigate. |
No problem QS99, Just got to research thoroughly, lots of positives going forward in my opinion with little downside, not a day traders share, but definitely a medium to long term hold, with lots of potential upside. |
thanks hmt, just v. quiet for a share that is up 50% in less than a week! |
Am a holder and will confirm to build holding! |
All the info is out there as hsharon has pointed out, many fingers in many overseas expanding markets, legacy issues well and truly behind them,as well as breaking into Uk markets with recent acquisition, turnover creeping up year by year, not quite on the radar of value investors yet! But any good news on expanding turnover and profits will move this northwards! |
still no views? |
this has gone bonkers and yet no posts? |
any thoughts on why the spike? |
Rumor has it there going to sell off operations in India. Tax to high in India on taxable profits. |

This is a quote from an FT article when Lapthorne joined the company: Nonetheless, he was incensed by the pay of CPP’s ex-boss Mr Callaghan who was paid £175,000 in salary and £575,000 as a bonus for just five months work — about 1 per cent of CPP’s market value.
Lapthorne has a short memory. This year the CEO was £257k salary, £255 bonus, around £70k in benefits and appears to have been gifted options on 10,000,000 shares with no hurdles (other than keeping his job). Meanwhile Lapthorne paid himslef £160k and his croney Hamlin £140k, excluding the £90k paid to his HR firm for leaderhsip consultancy.
This during the year they fired loads of people (£3.5m cash charge) and the share price halved. It appears that Lapthorne and his cronies from C&W were looking for a trough to park their snouts.
