In the meantime it keeps playing with the 60p level. Frustrating, but if that can tip over from being a resistance level to being a support level then it could be chocks away.

Yes I recall - there was the potential for a negative interpretation of the arbitration to result in other potential liabilities. Remote, but possible - but gone now.

Onwards...

Good to see the a465 issues settled at the costs previously advised. I sold out at the time due to the rest of the statement saying that the ruling might affect future payments due and after a raft of poor results wasnt confident that they were turning things round. Ive recently got back in because the tone seems to have changed to a more positive outlook. It is clearly undervalued so fingers crossed they carry on performing.

Afternoon all,
Just popped in to say Hi and that I have bought my first Costain today. Had not really looked at them but a poster mentioned the company and I had a look.
Solid as a rock and far undervalued. The RNS today IMO removes a lot of uncertainty.
Anyway...GLA and off we go!

Very bullish....let's hope for a close above 62.5 - that would be a new high since about July last year.

as ip mentions - the market hates uncertainty and this removes some.

Not really - in line with what they provided for last time, so no surprises.

We will get the full detail (note that it's the WG paying COST, not the other way round, so cash positive) in 3 weeks with the results.

It's the removal of the uncertainty, and the potential (albeit low) for unexpected complications that will be the real positive, for institutional investors.

The seller at 58-60p has already disappeared. For now...

Short statement with little detail. More questions than answers as a result I'd suggest?

Asleep at the wheel...

No numbers, but in line - no upside but no downside. Bloody Welsh...

We'll see in 3 weeks. 1 of the 2 uncertainties (and for me the dodgier 1 of the 2) removed at least - which should help.

Somebody paying over the odds at over 60p for 60k (which is only £36k when all said and done - hardly moving mountains) - but still very quiet.

Just noticed - results in 3 weeks - Tuesday 9th March

Looks more like a limit on the sell price - 58p and above - rather than a time limit. Seen it again today - a move above 58, and immediately the sells appear and stomp it back down again. I have this vision of someone (an intern?) whose job is to put them on as and when the price is 'right'. Be good if they fell asleep...

It will change - we just don't know when.

Agree. If there is a seller maybe need a sub 50p plunge big volume and then move on.

Everyone has their own reasons for selling - in my case I'm just cynical and expected a pullback from 62 having seen it happen earlier. I could have been wrong. I didn't sell that many, some 25% of the total holding, with it having doubled from 31p. And because it came back somewhat, I have been buying them back again, and continuing to trade some between 55 and 60 - but the swings are losing amplitude and with the spread and the machinations it's becoming a pain. But still worthwhile - made a few quid compared with doing nothing.

The results won't be good - but they're the past. The 2 contract balls-ups and the lockdown impact will show some nasty numbers; they already have done in the half year numbers. And way more important is the cash position and forecast - which is very positive.

It's all about 2021 - which is still going to be impacted by the lockdown and residual effects of the pandemic - but more importantly 2022 and beyond. Per the header (which I can update when we see the numbers and outlook).
