Let's not loose focus the results are now expected to be in line with last years numbers. Not great but does not warrant the 35% fall that we are seeing today. There is still a healthy pipeline of projects and we are not significantly out of pocket for the projects we bid on.I see this as the last correction before a recovery

Just wondering why everything seemed fine at the agm and 7 weeks later this update. Did they not know there were delays to contracts at that time?

I suspect there will be other contracts going sour, massive balance sheet destruction over the next 12 months, the cash will be depleted.

The chart has been predicting this for some time, those in the know!

All these companies need to stop under cutting each other and charge reasonable prices. They are their own worst enemies. Govt is too powerful in this and things will change as if they don't they will end up doing all the work themselves!

sasbod, most councils have their potholes filled by the outsourcing companies, such as Costain.

Costain are desperately trying to show a profit on this kind of operation, but they are finding it is simply not possible. Their clients, the councils, are getting very poor service.

If it is not already, in the future, outsourcing will be seen as toxic to everyone involved as the PFI.

Our infrastructure is in shocking state, Costain should be making boat full of cash filling in pot holes... why is it management want complex projects which over run... what's wrong with making money the easy way?
