06/4/2006 00:30 | nav1000, No, it simply is not the same - Botswana is probably the most mining-friendly and stable of all the African countries, putting South Africa to the side. DRC has been and really still is an absolute madhouse. This is why CRC seems such a 'bargain'. I'm not deramping it since I hold the bloody thing, but this has to be understood! | simon54
06/4/2006 00:07 | nav1000, I hold both - because they're dissimilar (unless you really do mean that they're both copper plays - huh?) Most obvious difference is in the 'political risk discount'. I'm sorry if my comment seemed abrupt, but this thread seems to have become the home for pump and dumpers anonymous. Nothing personal. | simon54
05/4/2006 22:54 | simon54 ??? same field, good potential... | nav1000
05/4/2006 22:45 | Yes. It's not in the least similar. | simon54

05/4/2006 22:17 | Ok - fair enough Pinhead - that makes sense. :-) | nicksig
05/4/2006 22:12 | Nicksig I'll only post items here that relate to the valuation such as price of copper, drilling updates, broker notes, etc. Other thread for general discussions, price movements & everything else! | pinhead3
05/4/2006 22:07 | I think the restriction on the price rise will last for a few more days yet. At least part of the 8m shares placed will be sold off for a instant profit of over 80%, even with this company's excellent prospects. | pinhead3
05/4/2006 22:03 | Can we not pool the 2 threads for CRC? With 2 going at the same time it makes it difficult to keep track. | nicksig
05/4/2006 22:02 | Nav - I agree. Profit taking held this back today. Roll on tomorrow... | nicksig
05/4/2006 21:52 | this is a cheap stock, future 6-7 bagger from now, short term target has to be around £2. | nav1000
05/4/2006 21:37 | Nikesh You were looking for research notes on CRC,check this one out on the company website. Horn Research & Analysis note 2005 Very thorough if a bit old (May 2005), well worth the time to read especially for information on directors & Hinoba-an. Valuation is £2.73 before purchase of MMK & Haib plus with copper rate at $1.10/lb! | pinhead3
05/4/2006 21:31 | Added to the header another research note, very thorough & well worth reading even if it is a bit old. Horn Research & Analysis note 2005 | pinhead3
05/4/2006 19:37 | Another day another record high for copper. FT today. 'Copper and zinc hit new records, helped by forecasts of strong demand growth from India's mines ministry. Helped by a boom in construction and cars, India's copper consumption rose by 7 per cent in fiscal 2006/07, and the momentum is expected to be maintained with growth of 7 to 8 per cent over the next two years. Although India produces about 0.5m tonnes of copper a year and is a net exporter, annual consumption per capita at 0.3kg remains a fraction of that in developed economies. Three-month copper rose 2.3 per cent to $5,677 a tonne after hitting a new record at $5,684 earlier in the session following a 2,300-tonne fall in LME stocks. Noting the large increases in the three-months copper price have been occuring on very thin volumes, John Kemp of Sempra Metals said this suggested the lack of players in the market and liquidity was becoming an increasingly serious issue.' | pinhead3

05/4/2006 19:00 | Patience is the key. Nothing has changed since this morning, literally! | nicksig
05/4/2006 18:55 | Rule of thumb - if everyone on a board starts saying its 'going to rocket tommorrow' and / or making price prediction competitions then the chances are that the next day it will do nothing at best.... Then when people are starting to lose heart - whoosh off it goes... | stegrego
05/4/2006 18:05 | 'DJ Chile Antofagasta Sees '06 Copper Output At 440,000MT SANTIAGO (Dow Jones)--Chilean copper miner Antofagasta Minerals (ANTO.LN) sees its 2006 production at 440,000 metric tons, and its 2007 production at 500,000 tons, this year's figure down from the 498,000 tons produced in 2005, Chief Executive Marcelo Awad said Wednesday. The output this year is due to slower production at its mines, including the Michilla and Los Pelambres, as a result of falling ore grades quality, Awad told reporters at the CRU World Copper Conference. The copper miner also pushed forward the feasibility study for its planned Esperanza copper mine in Chile to early 2007 as recent exploration has shown the mine could have larger copper reserves than expected and also gold and molybdenum. The miner's board of directors likely won't give the $600 million-$700 million project the go-ahead until next year, with the mine coming on line in late 2010 or early 2011. We've fast-tracked this project because we've found new resources there," Awad said, adding that Esperanza likely will produce 120,000-150,000 tons when on-line. When asked about sky-high copper prices, which reached a fresh record $2.59 per pound on the London Metal Exchange Wednesday, Awad said he was happy, but also concerned about possible substitution among copper fabricators and users. Some substitution has been seen in Europe, which concerns us because it's damaging to the industry in the long run," he said. While he didn't venture an estimate as to the average copper price for this year, he did say it would likely stay above $2.20 a pound and even hit $3.00 at some point in the year.' | pinhead3
05/4/2006 17:40 | i thought i had missed the boat yesterday when rns was released after hour, wake up in the morning and price is still at this level, surprised no further price movement, mkt cap of only 43m, but then again profit takers, who bought at lower prices will probably want to bank profits, could slide downwards for a while, | nav1000
05/4/2006 17:05 | Hi Nikesh. I think CRC has yet to register on many people's watchlists. When it does - and with some positive media exposure, I expect this to tick along nicely. Fingers crossed! | nicksig
05/4/2006 17:02 | nicksig hopefully we will see movement 2mrow very surprised at opening today | nikesh2

05/4/2006 15:09 | nikesh2 i dont think the price wll be rising for awhile. profit takers, institutions taking immediate profit, can drift back to 80p... | nav1000 |
