“The Directors recognise that the Group’s net current liabilities of €2,113,516 (31 May 2021: €1,790,142) is a material uncertainty that may cast significant doubt on the Group and the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern”

I would never be a long term holder of a simple minnow explorer with nothing other than a few oz of potential. Companies at those stages should always be traded. This however is no longer at that stage and is now a long term hold for me. No large dilutions ahead to pay for any exploration, CAPEX or OPEX, superb position and derisked.

You'd have needed to be me to see how it went over a period of 20 years in here robemy.

You just can't be a LTH or you'd have less than a penny in the £ now and hence a 99.3% loss on the original investment.

Yes you can trade it...and that's it.....IMO

Nearly a £200 profit so far if I wanted it now! But I'll hold! for now!

A very long winded way of saying you just bought and sold at the wrong time.Exploration companies repeatedly raise until they are either bought, JV'd or go bust. There is a JV in place (a very good one) and increasingly large trend and grades.Grab some and tuck them away, you'll not find a gold company at these prices with same potential.

hxxps://audioboom.com/posts/8251566-midweek-takeaway-with-professor-richard-conroy-chairman-of-conroy-gold-aim-cgnr

Despite my negative feelings here I am going to trade it....I can see a least a 1X bagger! The podcast (above link) is probably what changed things for me..but I won't stay long!

You probably already know I don't trust old Prof Conart...based on my over enthusiasm and loss of circa £100k here.....I suggest investors air on the side of caution....note the clever non -company specific words used in the comment...talking about the overall area etc.
Professor Richard Conroy, Chairman, commented:

“This new discovery is potentially a transformational event for gold exploration and development in this very large gold district. The presence of visible gold and the outstanding gold grades of up to 123g/t gold (4oz/t gold) in these initial samples are exceptional and, taken in conjunction with the Company’s other significant discoveries, indicate the potential for the district to become a Tier 1 gold area.“

....Probably the reality is that it just has never been commercially viable to build a mine with old mining techniques and of course a gold price perhaps around £200 per troy oz. or less back then when CGR was our hold in the early 2000s....and now really only above £1,000 per troy oz. for the last three years or so........so yes I must admit a lot of these AIM ventures have potential.....unfortunately my distrust should not allow me to participate....which I accept is unlucky for CGNR (by virtue of my previous participation as a LTH from 2001) wheras other AIM gold exploration cos. I probably would have fared pretty similar....but because I am later to the party with them and haven't had the same negative experience I probably view them better......just the way it is.
I've lost over £100k and we have raised and raised and consolidated and raised and raised etc. and Prof still gets his salary....at my expense. For those that are here yes best wishes....but I really feel we should be further ahead by now and talking company specific and not area potential and who knows.....it might be different if Prof Conway had JVd a long time ago before dilution to the extreme....my advice to me and you still stands...trade by all means...don't stay too long!

Not remotely relevant to CGNR. Made the prof a multi-millionaire and now he just uses this dog for expenses.

Yes, he did. Without a doubt. He's being doing the same thing to thousands of shareholders for nearly 30 years. Fools like I was was, and people like you who remain fools.

It's a wee bit sad that you would think that a company like Demir with 60 years mining experience and part of the biggest corporation in Turkey would be conned. The prof spun them a yarn did he?

Now you know that's not true. They had a much better offer from Demir and you know it.

They have about 500koz, that’s not a great deal.

Nobody knows if there is or isn’t more gold there. One thing is for sure, the old man isn’t worried whether there is gold there, he’ll be long gone before any revenue from it is seen.

Also, in the unlikely event they find something Demir will take 50%

I looked through a few old RNS’s earlier, there was a zinc find announced in 2013, nothing came of it.

History shows CGNR has constantly issued shares followed by share consolidations, I would expect more of the same to keep the old man in his comfortable lifestyle until he dies.

Old man Conroy has been most skillfull in selling the potential of the company, and made a good living at it, the blokes a legend in his own life time. But when the likes of AAZ give it the once over and walk away, I'd say that's a good enough opinion for me. Good luck to any holders, you'll most likely need it.

You're entitled to your opinion. This company isn't producing gold yet so don't understand why you expect it to make a profit. Its slow going but nearly everyone is underestimating just how much gold there is under their 100% owned licences.

Well, c’mon how can anyone say this is worth investing in when they have never, ever made a profit?

I do like reading arguments both for and against, but I’ve yet to see a valid reason for buying in to a pile of Irish turf listed purely for the benefit of directors salaries.
