I don't think this is specific to CCC or the sector itself. The downtrend is across the board and behaving as if the markets anticipate a possible correction. Software/IT, Miners, Retail and House builders are dropping everyday. If one looks at the performance of the S&P/DOW/Nasdaq over the last 10 years, it's logical to expect a correction at some point. This is without the outcome of Russia/Ukraine conflict, China possibly attempting invading Taiwan and the BRICS becoming an economic threat to the West. The markets horizon is becoming a big question mark.

This is getting hammered every day.
Broker targets around 3000p are way off as usual.
Touted as a bid target but not behaving like one.

Well I've hitched aboard the CCC express at £21.35. Famous last words, but a PE of just over 12, a ROCE of over 20 per cent and net cash must be good.

Everyone seems to find some "material weaknesses in their reporting" - Of course, CCC is not WAND - Strangely everyone seem to be more careful even Credit Suisse - due to more scrutiny ?

@baodicea As a holder of CCC I hope you're right. But as the old adage goes: bad numbers take longer to add up than good ones.

It is clear that the market doesn't like audit delays. Have they found a stock discrepancy to investigate? (etc)
Probably not. More likely a delay due to the auditor's own staffing problems of which there have been a number in the past year.

Delighted with the update. I bought back in after the announcement

At least the reaction here to the update has been gently positive, unlike some other shares I hold where a good update or results has been used as an opportunity to sell, completely negating any positive effect and sometimes leaving it lower.
We are now 20% off the (unjustified) lows of last Autumn and it remains very firmly on my list of 'good value' shares.
One hopes that the upstocking of last year has been used to good effect in minimising supply delays to customers and that they will reap a corresponding reputational advantage. It's excellent news that their supply lines are now returning to normality with matching relief to stock levels and cash flow.

.... but it didn't come.
However, it's good to see the share price on a firmer trend of late. It never deserved to be otherwise imo as the supply chain difficulties were in no way company specific. By adept management they could, conversely, provide comparative advantage over the competition. Of course there will have been additional costs incurred which can be expected to show transiently against margins on a short term view. That is not a good reason to apply a derating to the company and I look forward to the prospect of further steady advance.

I looked at topping up in October but got greedy- wanting them at 1800p ànd turning down 1810p. Kicking myself now!

A recession, two year or otherwise, can only be "confirmed" after it has happened.
Ah, so they mean they confirm that it is predicted ... and we know how accurate predictions can be!

That said, we do actually need a recession to free up some labour for the jobs that need doing and force us to face economic reality.

However, there is little sign of recession at CCC and the market now seems to be waking up to the value here.

Although long term CCC is sound, one has to be a bit careful as a 2 year recession is confirmed by the BoE.: - - -

Thanks for the quotes. I'm holding onto the shares anyway - I'm just a bit wary of high inventories! Good luck all

There have indeed been deliveries held up by inability to complete the fitting critical components. The company has also been carrying higher uncommitted stock levels in an attempt to avoid such delays as reported in the last interim report - "With the exception of networking products where difficulties still remain, supply chain challenges have eased materially in the last 3 months. However, our customers have become extremely sensitive about supply chain shortages, and as such require us to hold more inventory, impacting our balance sheet...."
Whether due to uncommitted component stock or wip delays, an unwinding of the supply chain issues should be positive for inventory levels.

Bigbertie - Agree with you that some hardware shortage is one possibility as already flagged up by SCT operating in the same sector: "We were able to effectively navigate the ongoing hardware supply chain challenges throughout the year. More recently there is some evidence that the supply chain situation is improving, at least for end user devices, although shortages on some storage and networking hardware lines look set to continue well into the new year."

boadicea, I don't think the higher stocks are "precautionary". I think they are mainly orders which cannot be shipped until complete and have a few remaining items missing due to supply chain issues (maybe continued China lockdowns or microchip shortages). It's very frustrating - shipments and therefore revenue are being held up for a few items!
