04/4/2008 07:57 | bubface - fair enough, but if it is a 'one off' I'd expect clarification in the statement. Most people associate dividend, unless stated otherwise, as a regular return & can make a big difference, particularly to income seekers, about whether to invest or not | plentymorefish
04/4/2008 07:53 | whether this is a one off or the start of a progressive dividend policy of paying out part of the free cashflow.if it is going to be regular and reliable the shares should double imo.might try to contact the company. | bubface
04/4/2008 07:51 | "The board is recommending a final dividend of 1.5p per share be paid to shareholders on the register as at 2 May 2008." Can someone check my maths, I work at that on the basis of that dividend payment, it equates to a yield of 12.5% (1000 shares @ 12p = £120 - dividend = 1000 x 1.5p = £15 - £15 divided by £120 = 12.5%) seems a very attractive return - what am I missing? | plentymorefish
04/4/2008 07:41 | somewhat accounting related due to amortisation [as well as one off beano for the traders],net cash inflow from operating activities over £10.7m...now that's real money! | bubface
04/4/2008 07:10 | "After direct trading costs and trader bonuses and normal overheads, net trading profit for the Company was 16.7 million. After deduction of amortisation of intangible assets of 12.1 million and costs associated with the issue of share options and sign-on bonus payments to the trading team of 10.9 million, there was a loss for the period of 6.3 million." Can you adam and eve it! Why would anyone invest in a company that is set up not for the interest of shareholders but for lining the privileged fews' pockets? | pbracken
03/4/2008 18:04 | still think we will get the results as early as tommorrow.hopefully since metals have had generally speaking a good quarter this will be reflected in trading.since the business is strongly cash generative a visit to the dividend list wouldn't go amiss, and while we're at it a rejig of the board to regain some confidence, now it appears the bidders have all disappeared. shareholders can hopefully then get a clearer picture of the business and its prospects and potential as a stand alone operation going forward. i doubt we will get any clarification over cvs's intent on their holding but hopefully it can be placed out to institutions to remove the threatened overhang once the company has regained the markets trust and the shares have found their footing. | bubface
03/4/2008 10:17 | And the results are i understand going be better than first thought. | a2584728
03/4/2008 10:01 | Ambrian Capital came out with decent results today, especially for its commodities arm - could be the reason for the rise and interest today. | pbracken
01/4/2008 20:38 | I can find no confirmation of any bringing forward of the results, and expect it will be as previously informed, namely w/c 21st. | the drewster
01/4/2008 12:04 | Be nice to see the small rises maintained for a change! | qs9
29/3/2008 17:46 | ok lets hold fire on where the share should be until the results then we can make rational decisions! | qs9
29/3/2008 13:15 | Why would directors buy, when they are getting shares for free? Just given themselves about 15% of the company! Not wallowing down here in the mire for nowt, along with its big bro..... | sheeneqa
29/3/2008 11:32 | great thanks. All agreed. Outlook statement will be key, hopefully along with some chunky director buying now they are out of a close period? Short squeeze would be nice, but fundamentally, unless previous RNSs have been wrong, then this could very easily double and double again from here over the next few months as people realise how cheap it is IMO. Results RNS is key IMO. | qs9
29/3/2008 11:19 | they informed the market week commencing 21st april,i believe these are to be brought forward to the end of next week, hopefully a steady performance, continui | bubface
29/3/2008 07:59 | Yes I noticed that, only decent bit of the CVS RNS! CMM must be announcing results in the next few weeks should they not? Anyone got the date? Still on an OP multiple for last year's expected £16m of around 1.5 X me thinks (DYOR etc) after cash, so no reason IMO this cannot do 2-3-4 times from these levels with a decent RNS and hopefully the forced CFD sellers out.... | qs9
27/3/2008 07:28 | from cvs results "continue to hold certain investments including our current 22.6% holding in commoditrade as we believe this company will continue to thrive in its exciting market area" | bubface
26/3/2008 22:01 | Nice rise today, lets hope continues for rest of the week! | qs9
26/3/2008 08:27 | Divi likely to be in excess of 10% of current share price. | uglyduckling
26/3/2008 06:51 | was that a last minute up tick in sp? high volumes again today. | qs9
24/3/2008 19:11 | Please see two late reported trades from LSE website for Thursday - someone has been shorting, methinks ! If these are both buys, as I am sure they are, there should be an increase tomorrow. 20-Mar-08 10.32p 1,000,000 103,228.00 OK 20-Mar-08 10.32p 1,000,000 103,228.00 O | cyprussteve
22/3/2008 08:30 | Not that clear from RNSs but cannot have long to wait and see. To a degree I am surprised that they have not themselves put out an RNS i) to say when results will be and ii) in response to their share price being a 1/3rd of what it was a month ago, apparently with little reason other than forced hedge fund selling......managem | qs9
22/3/2008 06:35 | Cash is now therefore only a bit over 10% of the market cap Are you sure? They had net liquid assets of £24M (which includes about 3M financial assets for sale I think) and no debt. Im being very prudent and assuming they have at least £10M net cash after buyback. They made £16M pre-tax this year. Knock of say £2M for share based compensation and divide that by two for this year to account for reduced trading gives £7M pre-tax or £5M after tax. Just an estimate. | hugepants |
