nice to see bartlett askign for the franchisees to sign letters for him ..i remember him doing that to that for him ,look what he did to us ,lets hope peter come in with a better offer and he makes sure he shafts bartlett.either way who ever wins it it just goes to prove what managment lies have been spouting for the last year.i understand the insolvency agency are watchign kpmg and have asked for a full report into findings on both directors

I'm back from a nice cruise and have just spend an hour or so reading this board.

WS, I have to say that I have never read so much bile, spite, and ignorant 2+2=5 writings by one person (yourself) in any place in my life. You have no idea what is going on, you have no idea what has happened this week and you have no idea what will happen in the future. You should count your blessings that Coffee Republic and/or Stephen Bartlett do not have sufficient money to sue you for libel and defamation. Despite the company failing, there is still no evidence of any wrongdoing by anyone.

I have lost a great deal of money, but it was my decision to invest and I stand by that decision.

What a track record....

To let it go is difficult. It is extremely disappointing when you've built up a business, you've got great teams and a business that's in a much better shape than it was. But then suddenly it's out of your control, but your people still look to you for confidence. Your leadership is never more important.

Administration can come about for lots of different reasons. Celebrations was profitable but the lenders chose not to continue to support it.

look at CALABRIA in southern Italy, ryanair have a service there (Lamezia) from uk 2/3 hrs flight
fly from stansted. Villa there could be as cheap as 3 bed apt in another, less favoured overbuilt destination!
I have a one bed on 36 apt complex for letting cost around 60 k plus buying costs
Totally unspoiled and will be for IMHO another 10 years.

Thank you for your input. I had not considered that, but i will.

However i see no prospect for reinbursing me any of my capital lost in this PLC.

I'm afraid its spilt milk so there is no point in driving yourself and all around you with an attitude of yhy oh why and how stupid was i stuff. You win some and i have in the past and you loses some and this is my first. The difference is when i won and that was always i was running the company and when i lost someone else was running the company. Some lessons here surely!!

Losing as much as £160k and taking it as you have is to say the least commendable; That aside though there is something deeply deeply wrong with a company giving an RNS one month that debt is paid off and it will be very soon cash flow / earnings positive and then in the next few months confirming that it is going bust.

If one had invested or at least left their investment in on the back of the earlier RNS only to get shafted as a result of the later RNS surely there is something that can be done about that..??!!!!!

Answers and or thoughts on a reply anyone, or maybe a postcard Lord Kendal!

In all my 40 years of running my catering companies i always had success never failure. I am damn sure i could have run a simple coffee bar operation and made us all a shed load of dosh.

Believe me I feel £160k's worth of pain. I have left no pain myself on others only the pain I suffer for my greed in thinking that CR was a sure thing. Goes to show that even an experienced caterer like myself can come unstuck but then again I wasn't running it, if I had I can guarantee you the outcome would have been different.

The Croatian coast is magnificent, 1000 islands, not so many sandy beaches, more pebbyly, but crystal clear water and fantastic food, wine etc - plus if you like old Europe delightful port architecture then Croatia's full of it
