10/7/2009 13:24 | Thank you Carol, it is such a shame that the shareholders didn't ask any questions, believed no-one who had a bad word to say about barstlett. Maybe next time eh? Trolls? that's polite!!!! | winning_streak
10/7/2009 13:20 | Just goes to show that most here knew absolutely nothing, while professing they were experts in the know, and that those who did and tried to give you all warnings were called trolls and kicked of ADVFN. Sad really, and I am so sorry for all your losses and heart ache as time times are hard enough without having to suffer the insufferable. I was lucky as I got out earlier. Wish you all well with love and I trust a little comfort, sincerely Carol. | carwhite
10/7/2009 13:15 | mmmmmmmm, so where is this rns and, is the Scottish liquidator in touch with Mr Hill? Surely this should be tied up somewhere - maybe they'll find out what happened to the lease on Plymouth. | winning_streak
10/7/2009 13:12 | WS No, I'm afraid you have the wrong thread . . . maybe your eyesight has been affected as a result of "looking" at the "lovely photos" . . . | cufes2
10/7/2009 13:09 | Lordkendal I am sorry to hear you were in so deep although I can assure you mine was painful enough. Yours almost pi55e5 me off more as I know you are close to retirement and this recession will have given you enough of a kicking without having this pile on your plate. I think this will take me a year or so to recover as long as things continue to pick up. I have had much bigger loses on the value of my industrial unit (pension)but I am sure it will come back. I take my loss with cfe much more personally and it will be a while before it gets full closure with me!. Still you live and learn and as someone once said "if you haven't made any mistakes you have never tried anything new", or something like that. | daimonbok

10/7/2009 13:03 | So where did hammond get it from? He's got to be an insider somewhere then? More important to be covering their tracks then - or making a hasty retreat to somewhere warm!!!!! That dodgy deal with Plymouth might bite someone's bottom!! And, we know about that one - how much more DON'T we know. Is there an all ports warning out for barstlett - or did he leave on Friday? | winning_streak

10/7/2009 12:06 | GAME OVER: However, it is understood that one of the subsidiary firms defaulted on payment of a property lease and the creditor appealed to the Aim-listed parent company to pay the debt as guarantor, forcing the business into insolvency. Edinburgh-based insolvency practitioner Matt Henderson, of Johnston Carmichael, has now been appointed as provisional liquidator of the business, while the administration of the subsidiaries will continue. | paulmhammond
10/7/2009 12:01 | Looks like the PLC is going as well.... | paulmhammond
10/7/2009 12:01 | COFFEE Republic plc, the parent company of the operating subsidiaries of cafe chain Coffee Republic, has been put into provisional liquidation as ten of the company's English outlets closed their doors. Coffee Republic UK and two other subsidiaries of the Edinburgh-registered parent company fell into the hands of administrators KPMG earlier this week, but it was hoped that the plc operation would be able to run as normal. However, it is understood that one of the subsidiary firms defaulted on payment of a property lease and the creditor appealed to the Aim-listed parent company to pay the debt as guarantor, forcing the business into insolvency. Edinburgh-based insolvency practitioner Matt Henderson, of Johnston Carmichael, has now been appointed as provisional liquidator of the business, while the administration of the subsidiaries will continue. In addition to the ten stores which closed yesterday, Coffee Republic has a further nine outlets still in operation which it is hoped will be sold as a going concern. The remaining 160-plus businesses are owner-run franchises and concessions and are not affected by the companies' insolvency. Administrators said they had decided to close the ten stores that were "no longer viable" to leave the more profitable parts of the chain. Richard Hill, KPMG partner and joint administrator, said: "We are now in discussions with interested parties with a view to selling the remaining business as a going concern. "There has been huge interest already from potential purchasers and I remain confident of achieving a sale during the course of next week." Shares in Coffee Republic plc were suspended late on Friday night amid growing speculation over the sustainability of the business. | paulmhammond
10/7/2009 12:00 | Ouch, sorry guys . . . I've been here before with LGD (funnily enough with Freddy) and it's not a good place . . . but you will get over it and you can learn from it IMHO . . . | cufes2
10/7/2009 11:50 | I'm inclined to believe Daimonbok's prognosis but I'd like to also believe in WelshG as where there's life there's hope?? However I have mentally written off my £160k. It would be a very big surprise to discover all maybe not lost after all?? Where to get the truth?? | lordkendal |
