05/2/2022 15:59 | After a brief Google search, I found a full PDF of the IC article. Certainly it is a comprehensive curation of many of the public documents on CML as well as broker research. This was freely available on the web but maybe it will be paywalled at some stage. | bones
04/2/2022 18:21 | Thanks, bones. Been going through the website, the detailed Alpha material (covers your points) and few other bits. Intensive 90 mins - lots of abbreviations in the tech! Good that I am a Ch. Engr. and did some of those areas years ago, but much simpler then! Did strike me that many investors without a tech background could be put off by it. But I looked at Shore's predictions even harder. Deliberately leaving the Cos. Reports until last. Hopefully able better now interpret and see through any polish.... perhaps! But not do till the weekend. By the way, I'm not a frequent poster. But will be good to see words from older hands. | hew
04/2/2022 17:16 | Welcome hew. Apart from the secular 5G/IOT story, CML has a stack of cash from its sale of the Storage division for $49M last year. Since then CML has paid out £1 per share in surplus capital and special dividends. Yet it still had £23M cash, a good proportion of the market value. Apart from the organic growth story, I believe there is the prospect of selected acquisitions and, behind it all, the possibility of being acquired by the many bigger players in the RF/mmWave space. Recently, the leading US RF products distribution group, RFMW, agreed to be one of CML’s worldwide distributors (having been only the US territory distributor for CML). I continue to believe CML has a lot to go for. | bones
04/2/2022 16:24 | It's quite a strong piece: "high growth industrial communications market ...... attractive entry point. Newly in today at 408p (from actually reading!) the Alpha words. Someone may post details but sorry, I'm not going to. Alpha costs money. I'm expecting strong growth in an expanding market, not some sort of rocket. (So not a "nervy punter"!) | hew
04/2/2022 16:01 | Solid buying today makes me think the Mm’s went short their books to meet the sudden demand. Hence the drawback this PM as they try to work some more stock from nervy punters. It’s been cheaper to buy stock than at any time bar the first few trades! Good to see a bit of action here which may help get things moving with a wider audience. Thompson has simply reiterated what a few of us here have been saying for a year or two. | bones
04/2/2022 14:54 | Thanks Superplanty. | roddiemac2
04/2/2022 11:40 | Superplanty, thanks. Had to be that. That Thompson fellow has a solid following judging by the number who blindly bought on his tip. It’s a double edged sword because many of them won’t be sticky holders during any setbacks in price. That said, this stock sure needs some liquidity! | bones
04/2/2022 10:49 | It looks that way. | roddiemac2
04/2/2022 10:45 | Article in Investors Chronicle, Alpha- Small company research, "Profit from semiconductor mega-trends" Simon Thompson. Target price 550p. | superplanty
04/2/2022 09:00 | Flurry of buying since 8.45 this morning. Can only assume a positive mention somewhere in the tip-sphere! | bones
12/1/2022 18:29 | Ahead of guidance note for STMicroelectronics NV, Europe based but global supplier of semiconductor products. Part of their business lines is in competition with CML so this reads across encouragingly for CML’s markets. “ STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, announced today that its preliminary and unaudited net revenues for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2021 are above the business outlook range provided in the Company’s news release dated October 28, 2021.“ | bones
23/11/2021 08:00 | bones Yes very good progress. | roddiemac2
23/11/2021 07:55 | Happy enough with the interims and the outlook is especially promising. I think the finals could surprise to the upside. | bones
15/11/2021 10:17 | bones Thanks for the information. | roddiemac2
14/11/2021 18:13 | Ericsson’s state of play reports are interesting: | bones
14/11/2021 18:05 | I assume CML will be at the European Microwave expo in London on 13 - 18 February. Sounds like the place to publicise the SuRF range in earnest. Handy that it is London this time. | bones
14/11/2021 16:42 | Well worth looking at this interview from Microwave Journal just out covering the RF/MW space, the area that CML is targeting aggressively. The theme coming out of this was that the big players are actively snapping up smaller players as the race is on to get a piece of 5G. I was also intrigued by the reference to space activities. 5G/RF/MW looks like a very big opportunity for CML and they are right to go for it. If they get it right, they will be in play. Watch the video, it’s about 10 minutes long. | bones
13/11/2021 19:50 | US semiconductor index at all time highs. CML supply to that sector so unless CML have screwed up their own raw material supplies, it should bode well. We will find out on 23rd November I guess (interims on 23/11 and not the 24th as shown on the last trading update). | bones
13/11/2021 16:52 | Very thinly traded in recent weeks.---It will not take much good news to shift the share price up--(or down on the lack of good news). | roddiemac2
18/10/2021 09:08 | This recent release from one of CML’s main US based distributors looks promising for the new SuRF range: ”RFMW and CML Microcircuits (USA) Inc. are excited to announce the expansion of their already-successful business relationship. Their existing distribution agreement has now been widened to include global marketing and sales of the CML product portfolio. This partnership is poised to build on the success of CML’s new SµRF range of high frequency, high bandwidth ICs targeting RF and mmWave markets. The SµRF range is a perfect fit for the RFMW distribution product line and presents an exciting opportunity to distribute and promote these products on a global scale. RFMW is a specialized distributor providing customers and suppliers with focused distribution of RF and microwave components as well as specialized component-engineerin | bones
29/9/2021 08:07 | Yes, keeping it conservative with regard to the second half but this is hopefully a case of managing expectations and ultimately over-delivering in practice. The first half performance is reflecting my hopes that their products would be in demand partly because of the semiconductor shortages worldwide. I feel sure that should continue. In the meantime, the new mmWave products will hopefully start to gain traction during 2022. This is where they see the future growth potential as 5G demand intensifies. | bones
29/9/2021 07:54 | Solid update | scepticalinvestor
17/8/2021 13:21 | Lovely chunk of special dividend received on Friday and most of it reinvested back into CML today at a “buy the dip” price of 389.9. Happy to build a good stake here. | bones
06/8/2021 14:03 | Thanks for the info bones...much appreciated. Seems like supply still tipping the balance for the moment then. Will keep an eye on it as such a small spread is particularly tempting for a trading spread bet. | gleach23
06/8/2021 13:43 | Hi gleach23 Can sell 2,500 @ 395, so not overly bid for just now. | bones |
