Think we're looking till at least September before the new licences are evaluated. In the meantime, P2248 and P2252 slip further down the farm in ladder as appraisal wells take centre stage. Complete waste of 18 months in the data room.

a1m; how long would the work take for clnr to get CPR done in your estimation ? And would this require another capital raise to cover the cost of the work ? any thoughts......

caters, I posted this on the other BB the other day, but it is relevant to you're point.

Two ways to look at any potenital Centrica (spirit) deal. So there will have been work done by the CLNR team on the blocks already so they have a good idea what the lay of the land is down there and i'm sure Centrica do too, both from CLNR's previously open data room and the data available by O&G authority for the 30th round bidding. So, two options, one the deal goes on hold until CLNR get the CPR done that gives an official estimate of the gas and potential value, now if this is a good as thought i.e doubled the prospective resource, expect a big rise in the share price once released and the estimated value of the propspects and hence the price to take over the Co goes up significantly too

OR

If Centrica are confident enough that what's down there is of interest to them (suggested by them taking applying for the blocks in the 30th round) then wouldn;t it be prudent for them to come in with a low ball offer now before the prospects are proved up further?

Whether or not any deal gets accepted will be down to the shareholders vote but I for one for a quick and significant uplift would accept 10-20p. Why would we accept a lower offer now rather than holding out to prove up the blocks, drill etc? For me a zero risk high return in quick time wins but I understand that others would rather hold out for bigger gains, each to their own and up to the shareholders to vote.

End of the day, unless you're part of the BOD who knows how this will progress, it is a theory, to me it's logical and there is a hell of a lot of evidence pointing that this is the way things are heading and that the 30th award blocks have been pivotal to this play all along, look at the time scales of when our big time investors joined the scene, why would they have done that into an apparent dead end business unless there was a plan...a big plan in action! This is it imo and this is the time be getting invested if you fancy the punt, the recent spike allowed the last of the sellers out and now it's time to move forward.

Don't the new licences need some work (reprocessing seismic, etc) before farming them out.

If CLNR spends a bit of money and time on the licences, they should get a better farmout deal.

So, yes, the licences look very attractive, but will look even more attractive later on.

Spot on Bronislav, the general retail PI's have failed to work out the significance of the 30th round. Imo there was a battle going on to snap up the rest of the land around block 42 and 43 between us and Spirit energy as they as well as we do the huge potential amounts of gas down there. Now, CLNR won that war, we tripled the size of our blocks on 42/43 and spirit got a couple of tiny blocks on the side. Now check out who Spirit energy are - They are the gas and exploration division of Centrica Plc, aka British Gas. So IF spirit were in fact trying to grab these blocks in the 30th round then CLNR, with a remarkable outcome in the 30th round, won the battle and secured the blocks. I believe Spirit have now shown their hand and it's down to negotiating how it progresses from here. I expect a take over in the range of 10-20p per share. GLA!

Such as what, or would you rather not say. I'm happy to listen even if it is only your speculation, it would be good to know the possibilities.

Given the fact we had to have a farmin by end of may as a condition of the licence extension, and the OGA Happy to waive that condition ,could they not do similar with the September deadline.Dates seem to be flexible in relation to OGA terms. With a big player like Spencer on board and the generous offer of new licences by the OGA it seems we are further forward than the off chance we get a farmin on the two licences...Those new licences must be pivotal in any deals going forward and as such the bid round results should be the missing piece in the deal..Good to go in my opinion and could get news at any time.
The recent high volume was more than just traders hoping for a may farmin in my view ,much more going on here than meets the eye.

The CNR board is very professional, committed and conscientious and have worked very hard. Getting the new blocks was a fantastic achievement. Pity there were only 3 PI at the AGM on the other hand considering the attitude on this board perhaps that is a relief!

Thanks Anley for your generosity in providing a summary of yesterday's AGM, your comments and opinions are valued, so please keep them flowing.
When you say they know they need to do a deal in the next 3 months, that's actually not very long to wait for the next piece of news. I assume that if a deal fails to materialise, the next and only option is to self-finance the drill. Was any expected or desired timeframe given for Algy to sell the company and go into his permanent retirement? Thanks.

Well I think I will hold for a few more months ,maybe just maybe we won't have to wait as suggested. Those licences were awarded on the back of something that the market in general isn't aware of.imv.

There is very good potential in the blocks the Daily Mail it turns out used some journalistic licence. Anleys comment on the AGM tallys with my view of the proceedings.

kristini I think you will agree many of anleys posts have been beyond speculation.

I posted last week to his annoyance that he had no more clue than the rest of us and might as well stick a wetted finger in the air. Turns out I was right.
