I dont know why she said oh dear justjim, I think you are winding me up.

Believe me if it is bad news I will have something to say to jim wittaker who categorically told me not to lose sleep over it and laughed when I said I was worried!

Now please be sensible would anyone do that to a shareholder if it was bad?

As for the trading pattern jim you could not be further from the truth! the market makers set the price and not the shareholders! I believe they got wind and tried to gain more stock in preparation for the news and they got caught out!

Surely this cant be bad, has there been any other stocks you can think of that has been suspended then came out with good news? there must be!

any examples?

Justin, are you serious?

Did she finish of the conversation by saying "oh dear" just to hang up on you?
If that's true, it does sound rather disconcerning.

I have not invested any money into CAB, but lost enough on the EGS plunge this week. Bought CTM three minutes before the statement, went away just to see huge sell blocks being executed around 95p.

One hell of a week, and I've been too shaken by the scenario to try to win the money back by speculating. Considering what strategy to pursue further.

It is interesting what an important role psychology plays in this stock gamling game. Before learning a couple of lessons, I respected the money from profits much less than my initial investment -- something that could cost you dearly.

Have claimed back losses before, and will so again.

Wish you the very best on Monday, would not be surprised if the statement was highly bullish.

Erdmanski,
you are of course correct. I am not really an investor but more of a professional gambler - great fun and you don't have to take your clothes off :0)

I am a bit concerned however about the trading pattern around 3pm onwards. To me it looks like day traders got wind of something and bought in. Fine. But if you look closely you will see that almost every buy was matched by a consequent sell (See broker references and amounts) If they did know something why buy and sell within minutes instead of holding. Even day traders often hold for a few days (I know, I've got the T shirt).
Ok some made a nice profit but if they knew it was going to be good news on Monday surely holding would have made more sense.
I suppose my "winning" £3k on CDY today makes me think I must lose a similar
amount on CAB, but on the other hand I could be on a roll!!! I also bought PIT Pilkington tiles today and they are up 13%. Hope it comes in threes.
I phoned Philip Howard up - as per the announcement - but the lady I spoke to referred me to Anderson. Using gracey's ploy I begged her for infomation. I said "look I've £10k invested in CAB and will be worried sick all weekend"
Her exact words were "oh dear" she then disconnected.
Tonight I will mostly be getting drunk. (again)

I've not got a clue gracey, all I know is that it must be something big or a plain old RNS would have sufficed. Oh, sorry grant1, whoever you are, forgot to change my handle!

I think the reason they suspended Just and probably this wan't that it was good or bad news, but that somebody obviously got wind of whatever it is before everyone else - therefore its suspended until a proper announcement can be made.

well they did have money problems, then they formed "strategic alliance with
Ekamant AB of Sweden" then we hear that a Scandinavian chappy is buying up shares.

Hmmm, me thinks the wind might blow us something from Scandinavia and this time it will not be radioactivity from Chernobyl.

Anyway, it is all conjecture and guestimation, I won't lose any sleep over it.

As for Just I bought in a few minutes prior to suspension.

It wasnt richard smith who I spoke to it was Jim wittaker, now when I said I was panicking he laughed!

Do you think he could be sick?

I hope this is some sort of good news, bear in mind that gylenhammer own 22mil shares which is 26.8% of the issued shares I reckon he has been doing his final buying today as the bigger trades carry the same codes.

I dont think this is a just

I regret selling on tuesday , have thought about buying back in every day this week but held back , I suspect the news will be about refinancing possible merger , deal , lease back something of that nature .
He who hesitates and all that.

Good luck to all holders hope its good news .

And all those slim stock promoters who considered Carter Barnard (CRB) a safe bet. The share has now dropped from 2.25/2.50 to 1.75/2.00.

What a bargain!

I actually bought Just shares 10 mins before there first suspension - and they opened anout 55% down the next trading day from memory.

I bought 7000 carbo shares 5 minutes before this suspension!!!

BUT !!!!

Just shares were being sold like mad when I bought (I know I know) and the price was dropping, whereas with carbo it was on the up.

So guaranteed opening at at least 10p next trading day, he says hopefully.

Gracey , I also spoke to Richard Smith and I asked him "should i lose any sleep" as his lips were sealed and there was'nt a lot he could tell me,he said "not to lose any sleep",we will all have to wait for their announcement ,personally I dont think there is a bid from Gylenhammer at the moment and due to the recent increases , a statement is due from them .

This is all my opinion and in no way encourages anyone to buy or sell,I am still holding and will continue to do so for a while yet.

All sleep well and have a great weekend

Gracey we are all with you but where can we research?

Looking at the price action at around 3.0 it smacks of the MMs getting whiff of this early. There certainly wasnt the sustained buying to drive the price up. In fact around 3.22 the offer jumped from 6.0 to 7.0 with absolutely no buying at all.

My guess is for asset sales as per my last post

That's the spirit justjim - " I just *won* £3000 today ".

Finally someone who appreciates the true nature of this gamble;)

It's my fault.
I won £3000 on CDY today and this is my punishment.
No gain without pain !!

He then said all he can tell me is dont lose sleep!!

please can someone else find something out or am I the only one doing research here?

Would they suspend shares because of a bid? Doesnt normally happen does it?

Maybe its more likely that Gylenhammer has arranged the new financing or helped sell of assets as promised

Just my tuppence......still worried tho coz I dropped 46% on VET today! Couldnt handle two disasters on one day!

No need to panic I have just spoken to anderson myself and told them I was worried sick and here is what he said!

" I wouldnt lose any sleep over the weekend an announcement will be made on monday and we fully expect to be trading both the preference shares and the ordinary shares on monday afternoon"

Call me stupid but after losing 11k on egs yesterday I dont think that is bad news

Daddy Warbucks - 25 Jan'02 - 16:31 - 1292 of 1297

I think that it will be positive and that Gylenhammer has gone above 30% ownership and that he is now obliged (and has) to make a bid.

20p next week or just the 15 / 16 asset value?
