What strategic matters could there be…..George off the board but with a significant strategic stake in the business. He was happy to do a deal once wouldn’t surprise me if he is now looking for his final exit with a takeover of CLIG.

I suspect the same is the case for all the funds listed apart from two of them.

Is the recent market performance expectation of Karpus unloading over the next year or so,interest rates or possibly both?

It's not my shareholding list, it is the list that is published by CLIG.

Your shareholders lists above are very interesting, but is it right to call, for instance, Interactive Investor, an institutional investor? ii's holding is actually just a combination of pi's, including me.

BOARD CHANGES -

City of London (LSE: CLIG) announces, in accordance with LR 9.6.11R, that George Karpus, a non-executive Director of the Company, has indicated his intention to retire as a Director of the Company immediately following the Company's Board meeting on 31 July 2023.

Mr. Karpus joined the Board following the Company's merger with Karpus Investment Management in October 2020. It was initially intended for Mr. Karpus's appointment as a non-executive Director to continue until the Company's AGM in 2021, and the Board unanimously approved the extension of his tenure for an additional period to support the integration of the two businesses. Whilst Mr. Karpus will be stepping down from his Director role, the Company will retain Mr. Karpus as a strategic advisor to the Board.

Barry Aling, Chairman, commented: "George's success in developing the Karpus business from its launch in 1986 to a firm today with an estimated US$3.4 billion of funds under management, is testament to his strong leadership skills and strategic acumen. Since joining the Board following completion of the Company's merger with Karpus, the Board has benefitted greatly from his extensive experience of the asset management industry. The Board looks forward to continued engagement with George in his role as strategic advisor to the Board and as a significant shareholder in the Company."

George Karpus commented, "I have enjoyed my time on the Board of CLIG and look forward to supporting the

Company in the future as the management works to add value for clients, shareholders and employees."

Tom Griffith, CEO, commented, "I would like to thank George for his contributions to the business and look forward to his counsel on strategic matters."

I'm not sure if 'care' is tbe right word but I would like to know. Anyone?

FYI Dishes I'm trying to work out what possibility there is of a CLIG takeover. The divi is respectable but I doubt the share price is going anywhere fast.

I've looked at the merger announcements which was June 2020 when CLIG share price circa 325p but it's not very clear - to me anyhow.

Yes you're right, a few on here been in this stock for years, doubled our money with dividends received, tax free in ISA and compounding dividend. I feel this may be taken over,No debt, millions in cash in the bank, major shareholder retiring.550p I think all would be happy. If not just keep receiving the dividends, every couple of years we seem to get a special div as well.

Excellent free cashflow continuing over many years and in all market conditions almost guarantees current dividend of over 8%. Long-term share price trend over last 15 years still produces bullish chart pattern. But I think in terms of years not weeks!

The only trend I can forsee is in coming weeks is flatlining at best! Even that is optimistic considering ROA,ROCE and ROE are all falling year on year.

Give me good reason(s) to put my money back in here. Please.
