By Gow! there weren't half an explosion!
Gun-Crew was filled with alarm
As out of the port-hole went Joseph
Wi' a cannonball under each arm.

At this, up rolled the Boatswine
shouting all ower 'wheer's Joe'?
One said ''es taken two cannonballs with 'im
And gone for a breather, - outside'.

'D'ye think 'eell be long'? asked the Boatswine
The Gunner replied: 'If as 'ow
'e comes back as quick as 'e left us
'E should be 'ere any time now'.

All this time Joe, treading water,
was trying 'is 'ardest to float,
And 'e shouted, through t'turmoil of t'battle,
'Tell someone to lower a boat'!

So taking all t'flags from their locker
They strung up a message on high,
T'were all about England, and Duty
(French thought they was 'ung up to dry)

Guns was got ready for Action
And that gave 'em trouble enough
For they hadn't been fired all Summer
And touch-holes was bunged up wi' fluff.

Joe's cannon were a right flippin corker
The cannon balls went nigh three foot round
They wasn't no toy ballons either
For they weighed close on sixty-five pound.

Joe, selecting two of the largest
(he was going to load double, for luck)
When a hot-shot came in through the port hole
And a gunpowder barrel got struck.

What say we attack 'em said 'Oratio
Says Joe, nay lad' not today
And Hardy says Aye, well lets toss-up then
And Nelson he answered 'Okay'

So they tossed (it were heads for attacking)
And tails for t'other way 'bout
Joe lent 'em his two-headed penny,
So th' outcome were never in doubt.

When t'penny came down head side uppards
They was in for a "do" that were plain
Joe said Shiver me Timbers
And Nelson kissed Hardy - again.

One day him and Nelson was boxing
The compass, as Sailor lads do
When Hardy comes up wi' a spy-glass
And said 'ere lads, tek a screw.

So they looked at where Hardy was pointing
and spied lots of ships in a row,
Joe said abrupt-like (but respectful)
'Oratio me lad, yon's the Foe!

I'll tell you a seafaring story,
About a man, who won honour and Fame,
Wi' Nelson, at Battle of Trafalgar,
Joe Muggeridge, that wor 'is name.

He was one of the crew of the Victory
And his job, when t' battle begun
Was to take cannon balls out of the basket
And shove 'em down t' front end of t' gun.

LOL - Strange post below ....

petebarnse - 2 Dec'04 - 12:37 - 2189 of 2195

i considered doing that to afford the ipo, but i think the ipo on fgml will be so oversubsribed you wont even get the minimum, so instead ill be buying twice as many shares as originally intended of fgml the moment the market opens, T20 trading facility as standard so assuming they can double bag between now and early january ill have my desired amount of shares totally free.

has worked many times for me before.

Responsible Lad - 3 Dec'04 - 09:20 - 6503 of 6504

Well my losses to date have put me into owing family money too as well as the bank. But my losses are attached to the EPO and LEG disaster, so I have a huge right to be buying EPO on credit as they owe me big time, since I blame them for the mess I have got myself in.
