I have some physical gold - when the time is right I want to sell it. Do you have any ideas where best place is to sell this at a decent price?

Invisage in GBP gold is £1301 at the moment, gold is an alarm bell going off and nobody is listening. the top in 2011 was £1282 so gold is alot higher now and we havent got any banks showing they are in trouble.

The debt just gets bigger and bigger and the growth gets less and this is with all the money the governments keep throwing at it and this is with very low interest rates so tell me how will throwing more money help things.

chestnuts, luck with your outlook, however think you may be hugely wide of the mark.

Keep an eye on a stock like RWA, perhaps the earliest cycle recovery play.

Already around 50% off its recent low, although that may be retested at some point.

I expect house prices to drop 80% the banks cant take this the young kids with £200k mortgages will go bust, throwing money at debt does not solve the problem commonsense does, if you look at Iceland who let the banks go bust have growth we dont and never will until the debt as been lanced , the biggest mistake ever made was bailing out the banks in 2008 Gordon Brown not only caused the problem he put petrol on it when he bailed out the banks.

They could say yes, in exchange for a hefty equity stake that could later be sold.
HMG could also bar buy backs until all money is repaid.

Why would the government bail out any airlines as one will go bankrupt another one will take its place.

WE will have to see who is correct

If you were the government and ezj came for a bail out after just giving the shareholders a divi, you would tell them to where to go.

For political reasons the govt told banks not to pay a dividend, I tell you what's nuts Chestnuts, EZJ paid a huge dividend a few days ago and are likely to get bailed out by the government in my opinion.

Banks are a lot stronger than 2008 - they rebuilt their balance sheet and hold loads more capital to overcome losses, they can absorb losses. I think banks will be OK.

I think they are going for a reset as if the housing market collapses which it will the banks will collapse, why do you think the government told the banks not to pay a divided the government knows whats coming.

Except the uk government as a 10yr gilt auction on the 8th and the interest is 4.75%
So if they keep the interest rates at .1% we are well and truly f++ced

A 4th choice, Japan. They are further down this road.

You can make a case there may be excess liquidity floating around within a couple of years.

The western world as 3 choices

Default on debt gold will fly

Inflate the debt away gold will fly

Have a reset because governments have failed they will have to link the currencies to gold to gain confidence in the new currencies as at the moment confidence is dropping.

I do agree not everyone will get the money etc.But where does that leave your arguement for the case for being in gold and the big rise in inflation as a result?

Why at the moment would the markets go up, the uk government and other government have spent trillions to try and stay still ie fill a void, and i must say they have done it complicated , it would have been better to just give all workers self employed or employed £250 its enough to live on,
But the way they have scheme works alot of people wont get any money, and alot of companies wont impliment the scheme as they dont want to borrow money so its a bit of a balls up.
And i am one of these people.
