HRT spuds ultra-deep Namibia well

Brazil independent HRT said it has spud an ultra-deep water well in a exploration programme off Namibia, hoping the third time will be the charm after two of its prior wildcats did not find commercial oil.

Moosehead-1 will target the oil potential of Barremian-aged carbonate reservoirs in hopes of finding an analog of Brazil's bounteous pre-salt.

The wildcat is on PEL 24 in the region's Orange basin and is expected to be drilled to 4100 metres over 53 days.

The site is 197 kilometres south-west of Luderitz, Namibia in 1727 metres of water.

HRT is the operator while Portuguese player Galp is a 14% partner.

HRT found oil shows but no commercial reservoir in the Walvis basin at its Wingat-1 well, while the Murombe-1 probe was dry.

The independent has also come up empty thus far at its onshore Solimoes exploration programme in Brazil as well as seeing an exodus of top executives.

I said a few weeks ago that the uptrend will start around Sept...

Around this time both Tullow and HRT will be drilling near our acreage and we could be hearing some farm in news..

Sp seems to be bumping around near the bottom but it wouldnt surprise me to see a dip to flush out the weak.

Lets see what happens..
