22/7/2013 09:51 | jimmy--iii--Re Namibian drilling 09:44 Namibian Oil Exploration jimmy24 One of the problems in recent oil exploration drilling has been that certain Direct Hydrocarbon Indicators in the seismic using conventional analysis have obvioisly not worked, such as the Nimrod well and the recent Murombe well.In both cases the reservoirs did not have porosity. In part this has been because of the lack nearby wells to be used as a control in seismic processing and interpretation. Another reason could be the presence of volancic sediments, which are believed to be a problem at Kudu. This problem can be addressed using wells that have just been drilled for control purposes, but also using a technique called Controlled Source Electro Magnetics to better interpret the seismic. This is described very well at: hxxp://c203624.r24.c One of the experts in this area is a USA based company called RSI (Rock Solid Images) and amazingly they already have experience of doing this in Namibia, see: hxxp://rocksolidimag The ingredients for giant oil discoveries in Namibia remain in place, proven oil source rocks, giant geological structures shown in huge amounts of 3D seismic, now where are the good reservoirs with oil in them. Question, who did the work in Namibia, most likely Tullow for the Kudu field but it looks like a second client also.Who. The techniques are available to find the oil. Jimmy | ![]() fairenough11

21/7/2013 12:06 | Yes Nige - I reckon we will get two successive results for Namibia then Mauritania (and that is without all the other stuff in Mauritania and Morocco going on later in the year). HRT have spent a lot of money - but they do have something to show for it. They found oil - on the first drill and they have proprietary information. I think PI's overreact all the time - the calm Pro's will have taken some good information from Murombe and Wingat and will be thinking that a giant field like in Angola (next door) is around the corner. They are not betting their holiday or beer money :-) and so will be more calm about the whole Namibia road show and the processes that accompany farm-in's and data rooms, and their time-horizon rather than PIs' time horizons. | hedgebetter
21/7/2013 08:41 | andonis - 11 May 2013 - 15:45:29 - 214978 of 226392 ftse 7k is a must andonis - 10 May 2013 - 10:01:37 - 7776 of 7932 FTSE to reach 7000. This is not debatable it is necessary and it is coming. Do you still think that is possible over the next few weeks ando ? | ![]() invisage |
