14/6/2015 18:37 | Yes, we need CCT to get those Clanger toys on the shelves right now.... | cfro
13/6/2015 08:45 | Hmmmm......Clangers hype ramping up. Series begins on Monday - anyone tried to buy a Clangers toy yet? Can't help thinking Character should have had them in the shops ready for the launch. Let's hope they're available soon! | mip55
12/6/2015 15:35 | A few good buys starting to come in now. People are starting to see the logic of worldwide sales effecting the bottom line of a small company and seeing the resulting potential of shareprice gains. As word gets out then that momentum is only going to increase. | fido
12/6/2015 09:29 | Well whoever just dumped 11600 shares on the market clearly didn't see breakfast TV this morning.. Loved the bit when they reckoned that a clanger from the 70's version swore! LOL :0) | cfro
12/6/2015 08:07 | Yes, just been watching it myself! Michael Palin on the sofa in a few minutes....... | cfro
12/6/2015 07:54 | Clangers on bbc news right now!It has begun! | coppertrader
12/6/2015 02:56 | gargleblaster, "overwhelming international interest" "exceptionally strong" "incredibly strong foundations" I would suggest MORE THAN just encouraging. And selling to the worlds biggest markets to. | fido
12/6/2015 02:45 | fido - thanks for all the info - all looks encouraging! | gargleblaster
12/6/2015 02:39 | Have a read of this and ponder where Characters shareprice will be in a years time. “There has been overwhelming international interest in the new ‘Teletubbies&r | fido
11/6/2015 14:45 | Characters shares would be going up if it were not for the 5k parcels of shares feeding the demand. Not sure if this is manipulation or an ongoing transference of shares. | fido
11/6/2015 12:00 | cfro, Now consider the effect those global sales are going to have to the bottom line of a £90m company. | fido
11/6/2015 11:46 | I have a feeling in my waters that the Clangers will be every bit as huge as the Teletubbies are expected to be and as big, if not bigger, than Peppa Pig. | cfro
11/6/2015 11:25 | The global roll out of the Clangers gathers pace. "Valerie Fry, Director of Licensing at Coolabi said: “The anticipation for the new series of Clangers exists on a global level" | fido
10/6/2015 11:56 | As I said before, Character are doing exceptionally well even without The Clangers and Teletubbies. Here is JUST ONE example of that: | fido
10/6/2015 09:52 | fido, i did not realise that CCT were approached way back in 2003, so thanks for that info. | cfro
10/6/2015 09:05 | gargleblaster, Plenty to like short and medium term with the Clangers starting of the 15th of this months and the Teletubbies from November the 30th I think it is, with so much in the very near term surrounding the excitement of those two shows. In the medium term we have the global roll out of toys related to those series that should do wonders for Characters bottom line. Longer term, the attraction of Character is that because they are seen as being good at what they do, licensors are increasingly turning to Character first in bringing licences to market, so the momentum Character are just starting to build is only going to increase. In other words, success leads to success and given the ever decreasing number of shares in issue its going to have a huge effect on both the dividends and the shareprice. | fido
10/6/2015 08:37 | Just to add a minor issue here with regard a possible takeover. Many scoff at the idea of a takeover of Character saying that the big boys would not be interested in such a small rival. Well the big boys WERE interested back in 2003 when Character were involved in takeover talks with an `american` rival. At the time Character were 58p and the talks were terminated by Character because the offer undervalued Characters potential. The point is that back in those days Character were just a little UK outfit who did well by picking the next big thing which was good but did not pose any threat to the bigger players. Well now Character have grown up a bit since those days and are now taking market share in the UK and are begining to gain traction in Europe and Australasia. Character are just about to go global with The Clangers and Teletubbies and look likely to pick up further licenses. Throughout all this Character are taking market share from the bigger players and the question you need to ask is just how much of that are the bigger players going to take before they take action and make Character an offer they cannot refuse. | fido
10/6/2015 02:52 | Just bought in here - a bit late to the party perhaps, but bought in on the back of Simon Thompson's recent IC article - looks like there is a lot to like medium term! | gargleblaster
09/6/2015 22:22 | cfro, The Clangers starts on the 15th of this month. One of the good things is that the audience won`t all be children with many adults being fans of the Clangers the first time around. The Clangers is the first of the global brands (ex US) and although it will not happen overnight, the potential of global sales for a small company like Character could be substantial. Looking forward to a build up of interest and a rising shareprice. | fido
09/6/2015 20:32 | cfro, My thoughts on a bid is that it may happen from £9.50 upwards, once we have seen some of the worldwide sales come through. The takeout price could be about £12.50. | fido
09/6/2015 18:52 | Lets hope we dont see a bid yet though fido, unless its for £10 share! :-) I'm seeing the Clangers being advertised a lot on TV. Bodes well imo. | cfro
09/6/2015 18:13 | Kings shares amounted to over 7.5% of the company so had they have been brought by one party then clearly there would have been an RNS. On the other side of the argument, that amount of stock is an awful lot of shares to place on the market without support which there clearly was because the shares were taken up and went higher today. My assumption is that someone has taken Kings stake but does not wish to draw attention to the take up so has put it through various chanels to conceal their identity. It is out of situations like this that bids are made from. We will see but best be aware of the possibilty. | fido
09/6/2015 17:08 | The move north would have been higher today but for the parcels of shares feeding the demand all day. Could be an element of transference still going on. | fido |
