But surely we are taking back control - of the things that aren't important of course.

So we'll control the profits of the businesses that provide essential services while letting Amazon take chunks out of any SME market it fancies operating in.

"They took our jobs".

Yes that's because you've been buying vast amounts of stuff at Amazon, instead of using SME suppliers in the UK, because you are a greedy, impatient and lazy person, who would rather just blame someone else than recognised your own complicity in the problem.

Brokers downgrading cna due to concerns over possible dividend cut ie price cap ( introduced on the 1st Jan) ,British Gas continued bleeding customers and another mild winter.
Not unreasonable concerns .

Upside we have the booming electric car market. Not sure how a price cap on a family with one or more electric cars is going to work. Are we supposed to give them free electricity after a certain point?

so SSE lost 160,000 customers.
I wonder how many CNA will lose.

This easy switching to cowboy providers is killing well run companies.
Many of the new providers are going bust, then their customers are handed on to another start up provider.

I read last week of a provider who operated from his own house.
He went bust but then was allowed to start up again.
So much corruption.

The press complain about the price cap being raised (because the gas prise was higher and the £ falling...3 cheers for Brexit)
Then they have the cheek to accuse the providers of making mega profits.
CNA and others are barely profitable.

This country is dying of ignorance.

It's a poor turnover to profit ratio though, that's why it's a low price.

CNA very cheap relative to its turnover.
£28bn turnover...£7.7bn market cap.

All misery is in the price with plenty to spare.

I read an article in the FT 27th September on TUi. There it stated Hot weather had NOT effected them and that they were on course for their fourth double digit growth.

I figured this company is firing on all cylinders and bought a few .

Today TUi released profits warning that stated the Hot weather HAD effected them and they would NOT be making double digit growth. Expect flat profits.

Who can we trust for reliable information. This is relevant to all investors

I see from the news this morning that some people think 'price cap' is the same as 'price freeze'. Duh.
