14/12/2017 17:45 | Porty, I agree totally with you about the Tory scumbags who voted down the government last night but let's not also forget the Labour "Brexiteers" who also failed to support the people's decision of last June. Only 2 of the nine or so supported the vote which is in some ways more despicable than those Tories like Soubrey Clarke and Grieve who have at least stuck to their principles. Wouldn't trust any one of them frankly and for that reason I very much doubt we'll get the Brexit we voted for. Bring back Nigel to sort them out, the only politician who does what he says. | warranty
14/12/2017 17:23 | Rich re 7108, actually I'm not at all worried about either CNA or a Corbyn government. A Marxist Labour government will never win a U.K. Election and frankly I'm rubbing my hands as I buy more CNA at this silly price. I also think debt has to be considered less of an issue with a utility as their business model is completely different. Whatever they say publically, the government need the Utilities and when they take a step back and see the damage they are doing we will see a turnaround. The ridiculous effort to provide competition through all these fly by night upstarts is doing more damage than good. These companies have no obligation to provide or maintain infrastructure and are just parasites, contributing nothing. Get rid of them and create a proper government organisation to oversee Utilities and regulate them as it used to be. I'm happy to wait for that which must happen before too long. | warranty

14/12/2017 16:01 | All utilities have significant debt. The regulator should allow a fair return on total assets. When privatised HMG rids itself of the capital demands of improving infrastrucure, billions and raises cash from the new owners. With a turnover of £29bn and positive cash flow, Centrica's interest charges are manageable. Hoping the CEO's significant share purchase yesterday was a genuine sign that the share price fall is overdone. | careful
14/12/2017 15:23 | I don't blame you Robert, I would do the same but I would lose an arm and leg !!! | jpjohn1
14/12/2017 14:31 | Bought at 165 sold at 145. Not good investment but pleased I sold. Bought Lloyds, Just Eat and Telford Homes instead - all of which seem to have a future. News from Centrica only seems bad - too much debt - too much competition and they have bet on smart home stuff which is done much better by tech firms - Can sleep at night now. | robert pennell
14/12/2017 14:18 | Yes capeview , it unfortunately it just keeps dropping. All of us can see the value in CNA but the rest of the investors don't see it. Like I said before, the soon it stops dropping and starts rising the better. What is the lowest point your guess is as good as mine. It reminds me of Glencore, it just kept dropping and dropping. I was scared it was going to go bust and at one time 60% of stockbrokers said it was lightly too, so I sold and lost 80 k. Ouch !!! | jpjohn1
14/12/2017 13:58 | Wow, talk about heading back to 2003 levels. The only time we've been lower is when I think the shares went Private, but I can't remember as it was around 1997, and not sure when BG when Private?? Still, sucks whatever. What I meant to say, was the chart only goes back that far so assuming that was the private date? | capeview
14/12/2017 13:12 | Unfortunately CNA seems the most kicked about share in the Ft 100. There must be ( like myself) people just fed up with it just dropping and dropping. A lot of Investors are very nervous out there about buying into CNA. I like to be positive about these shares but they do seem to be going just one way. I would like to buy loads at these prices but have literary a house on them already. I have gone from a Trader to an Investor, and feel mad with myself buying to large % in just one company now. I have sold a few other companies to get some money back, the only trouble now it's up to 82% of my portfolio is with CNA. I will Just be glad when this stops getting a kicking and investors see the real value in this company and it starts rising again | jpjohn1
