08/12/2017 09:40 | hello op you ok , no have plenty , my avge is 152p started to buy at 182p got my div sold a lot of bp to buy these . but now concerned at the lack of vision by the bod a good ceo would of by now acted in my view you no what I would do its common sense going forward buying and only having 4b shares in issue and reducing the div to 8p would mean they only pay out 320m in divs giving them money to reduce debt and clearing the debt for good but I do not think CONN is up to doing is job he as no vision | portside1
08/12/2017 09:25 | Broke through 145...you just bought some more Porto :-) | optomistic
08/12/2017 09:20 | super the only risk is the bod closing their eyes and ears , using the 2b cash and cancelling the divs for 18 months and buying back 1.5b shares and cancelling them . going forward at 12p would save them 180.000.000 a year ever year going forward and if they cut the div to 8p would save 200.000.000 and they should then use that to get rid of debt | portside1
08/12/2017 09:13 | Well they certainly had the lid on at 145 this morning! | optomistic
08/12/2017 09:01 | Obviously there is risk here. | supermarky
07/12/2017 16:28 | In fairness, the dividend is still more than covered by earnings at the moment. The question is I suppose, what happens going forward? If CNA keeps losing customers at the current rate both here and in the US then obviously the yield is under threat. I suppose it's a pay your money, take your choice kind of situation. Personally, I think it will be sustained so it's an add for me at this level with so much bad news already factored into the share price | warranty
07/12/2017 15:31 | Our BBC regional weather forecast has the high for Friday to Monday as 2C each day. The Met Office outlook for the following week is more cold, snow showers and ice and the further outlook is also cold. UK Outlook for Tuesday 12 Dec 2017 to Thursday 21 Dec 2017: Tuesday will be cold with bright skies and wintry showers. Further accumulations of snow are most likely in northern areas, and on hills elsewhere. By midweek, we may see another spell of rain, sleet and snow moving east across many parts for a time. The rest of the outlook will probably stay cold with overnight frost and ice, although the south may see a few interludes of less cold conditions. There will be bright spells and wintry showers, these most frequent in the north and west. There is a continued risk of snow accumulations for all areas, either from showers or more organised frontal bands moving in from the Atlantic. Strong winds are likely at times, especially in the west and northwest. UK Outlook for Friday 22 Dec 2017 to Friday 5 Jan 2018: High pressure is more likely to dominate for the rest of December and into the early part of January. This is likely to bring a mixture of colder, drier conditions and shorter lived milder, wetter and windier interludes. Snow is likely at times, especially in more northern and central parts of the UK. Temperatures will probably be below average overall, but with some milder spells. The USA has had a warm couple of weeks but it snowed in Texas and Mexico yesterday as a cold wave sweeps eastward, with snow predicted for Louisiana, Mississipi, Alabama and Georgia and then frost expected to sweep well into Florida. | aleman

07/12/2017 12:16 | The value of the company stays the same but the number of shares reduces increasing their price | robert pennell
07/12/2017 11:57 | If they buy back a billion shares they need to pay for them so the net value of the company doesn't change, the share price stays the same. The benefit comes when paying out future dividends. | gaffer73

07/12/2017 10:09 | Centrica need to sort out their prices and become more competitive, a lot of people I know leaving esp homecare. People renewing who phone up and complain about homecare price get 20 per cent off? Why not give people a good deal to start with? | wipo1
07/12/2017 09:55 | I've seen plenty of companies who have engaged on share buy backs and it's done sod all to the share price | badtime
07/12/2017 09:37 | at this low share price its good sense to buy back shares . it will save them money going forward in divs . and would be very good for holders | portside1
06/12/2017 20:06 | It would be unwise of CNA to hold less cash. Their debt is high enough. It amuses me when people say they have £2bn cash. What if a man had a £100k overdraft but carried £1k in his wallet? 'I have lots of cash'. CNA has gearing of 77%, high enough. preserve cash, useful stuff. | careful
06/12/2017 16:51 | CNA SAY THEY HAVE OVER 2B IN CASH , BY USEING THE CASH TO BUY BACK 1.5B SHARES THE share price WOULD BE NIGH ON 300P | portside1
