18/10/2017 13:16 | the board have the remit to buy back stock on the open market . if the board are not smart enough to do this at this low point then voting on this issue is pointless if the board under CONN do not buy back stock at this level then he should look for the door , its common sense to buy back at this level . or are the directors to busy on the golf course to even think about THE COMPANY COME ON CONN BUY BACK STOCK NOW | portside1

17/10/2017 22:00 | I'm sorry to say this one as been a bit of a damp squib for me. I bought my second tranche on the 4th and it's only had two good days since that day! I now know I bought it at the wrong price, like a lot of other investors who thought the price cap was already price on this one. We are now on record lows, think it's time to forget about this one for a month or so and hopefully it just might have made a move upwards by them !! Sorry to sound down on this one, hopefully your doing well with the other shares you hold. Good luck | jpjohn1

17/10/2017 15:49 | Thanks for the tips Nick. They both look very small with no asset backing unfortunately. | blobby
17/10/2017 15:34 | cheers blobby just put MARS on my High Yield research/watchlist. Have NAHL and CNCT on their too and CNA. I have a feeling i'll be panicked into buying CNA at some point, through fear of missing a potential bargain. | nick rubens
17/10/2017 14:58 | Nick, Yes I've bought into Centrica recently. Now 6.5% of the portfolio which is as high as I like to go, although I do make exceptions sometimes. Other favourites at the moment are Marston's, British Land and Lloyds. | blobby

17/10/2017 14:47 | cheers blobby, Have you bought some CNA? I'm always looking at these high yield low PE scenarios and sometimes they do come good. portside 1 "added a few more 25 weeks till ex div final 8.4p" Optimistic on the dividend not being cut then? Hope you are right. | nick rubens

17/10/2017 14:06 | added a few more 25 weeks till ex div final 8.4p | portside1
17/10/2017 13:32 | Nick, that happened to me as well. However Sainsbury's had a couple of tough competitors using a new model in the same industry. The barriers to entry of competing with Centrica look high to me and no new entrants. On the other hand there is a political risk, but this is often overplayed as we all need utility services and no government wants the blame for not providing them. | blobby
17/10/2017 13:19 | I bought Sainsbury's at 330p many years ago at what I thought was a High Yield and Low PE. lol That's the Stock Exchange for you. One can grow old looking at the screen daily. CNA does look good value, doesn't it? | nick rubens

16/10/2017 16:06 | This fall must be close to the bottom now. It will turn shortly. Miners have had one of their great runs these past 2 years. Looking toppy there. Rotation will take place..too extreme in both cases. | careful
