Not up to you big boys standard but bought 10,000 shares today. What's not to like? I'm a long term income man. Can't go wrong at these levels.

I’ve sold on the basis of not really having a clue where this will go from here, the price cap seems unquantifiable at the current time, risen most likely on dividend hunters today and tomorrow, wait and watch from side!

@kiwi this is a value play, any cap wouldn't be put in force for at least a year and probably delayed to use as a manifesto promise in 2019. Fundamentals are sound, oversold for reasons not immediately obvious

Could potentially get into mid 180s on this push.

Looked at this as a value play but:

Price cap - expected to save around 7 out of 10 customers £100 a year.

CNA - 7/10 of 14 million customers = 9.6 million all saving 100 GBPounds = 960 million straight off the bottom line.

That's 80% of their 2017 forecast pre-tax gone! Leaves forecast EPS of 3 to 4p

OK. That's worst case so, assuming further cost cutting and pruning, and perhaps a shake up in the market they will do well to make anything over 7p EPS in the next couple of years IMO.

another significant purchase by the Chairman.
Not only are they risking their own money but they are sending a strong signal to the market.

Must be looking good if CEO and chairman buying at these trashed out levels.

On the UK energy market the renewable leveys have a huge impact on prices.
I'm not against renewables, however it seems in this country we cannot have
a grown up debate on the factors that determine a domestic fuel bill.

In terms of the TSCO comparison, I've made that reference previously,
as the only way forward for CNA is aggressive operational cost cutting.

I recall Lord Stokes making a significant share purchase shortly before BLM went belly up! Still, I dipped a toe in CNA yesterday at 175 intending to buy more xd, but the anticipated fall hasn't happened.
