livingston 2-2 celtic
error strewn performance by duffy brown off after 5mins
the collapse is...
its a struggle now to see celtic finish within 20pts of rangers |
this seems very, very undervalued to me. they own their own stadium for a start (what would be the replacement value on that? - surely approaching £200-300m). total enterprise value including debt of about £100m. even looking past this very poor season, even 2nd place gives a shot of champions league qualification. and they will always finish in the top 2 at least due to much higher revenues than the rest. i dont know too much about the squad but edouard seems highly coveted, and there's talk of a £20m+ bid from a PL team. add on a historic brand and history, with a global fan base, the shares seems very low to me. private equity are very active within sports at the moment, 6 nations, all blacks. |
starting v hibernian [following the 'debacle in dubai'] --------------------
65 Hazard 30 Frimpong 57 Welsh 4 Duffy 93 Laxalt 12 Soro 42 McGregor 53 Harper 18 Rogic 14 Turnbull 19 Johnston
1-1
laxative and duff should now have played their last games, move them on. promote the defence from the development team and let them see out the season when is the last time we had a good defence, mjallby-balde-valgaeren ? build the team around mcgregor, turnball, soro, forrest, johnson |
yes, listened to game on radio. there is the scots cup, but league is over, rangers would have to 'jekyll and hyde' to not win now. most disappointing is that i could see a youthful celtic win it back in a year.
the trip to dubai - asking for trouble...under press microscope
rangers 22 pts clear |
Did you see Duffy when he came on for the last 20 minutes? He nearly got sent off after a couple of minutes. 5 minutes later he passed the ball to Kent just outside the penalty area. An absolute bomb scare every time I see him.
The league is over bar a miracle but at least they're enjoying themselves in Dubai. |
'Goalkeeper Alex McCarthy's positive coronavirus test meant Fraser Forster came in for a first Premier League home appearance since December 2017'
[southampton 1-0 liverpool] |
starting front 6 v rangers -------------------------- 12 Soro 17 Christie 14 Turnbull 42 McGregor 9 Griffiths 22 Edouard
edit: 20mins to go, red card, 0-1, that's about it.
to have 25m for tierney and then not invest in a decent defence tells a tale. atleast they put up a fight today. [also letting forster slip through their fingers is coming back to haunt celtic].
rangers did not have a shot on target today.
less than 18 months ago there were question marks over gerrard staying in post, now the tables have turned, will celtic stick with lennon until the summer or let him go now? |
starting front 6 v dundee utd ----------------------------- 12 Soro/Brown at 80minutes 17 Christie 14 Turnbull/Rogic at 77minutes 42 McGregor 9 Griffiths/Ajeti at 77minutes 22 Edouard/Elyounoussi at 80minutes
3-0
ibrox next, only a win will do...
16pts behind 3 games in hand goal diff worse by 20 |

starting front 6 v hamilton --------------------------- 12 Soro 42 McGregor 17 Christie 14 Turnbull 22 Edouard 9 Griffiths
edit: 0-3 |
8 cup finals ahead until the end of jan for 24 points starting tomorrow night. its a cliche - 'one game at a time'. |
rangers 16pts clear, 50 v 34
celtic have to win their games 3 in hand AND the 3 remaining old firm clashes, to even come close to having a chance. after tomorrow's scot cup final, 8 league games coming up until end of jan, 24pts up for grabs! |
rangers are going to have to sell players in the summer due to their debt pile, hopefully it plays with their heads
rangers out of the league cup, rangers clearing one distraction, though it was only 2 more games to win |
Celtic [v killie]
65 Hazard 35 Ajer 2 Jullien 4 Duffy 30 Frimpong/Christie 12 Soro 42 McGregor 3 Taylor/Laxalt 14 Turnbull/Rogic 27 Elyounoussi/Johnston 22 Edouard/Klimala
Substitutes 1 Barkas 8 Brown 9 Griffiths 10 Ajeti 11 Klimala 17 Christie 18 Rogic 19 Johnston 93 Laxalt
injury list: forrest
-- 2-0 in the last 2 games griffiths and brown have not got a game. i think there is potential for brown in the defence. nothing significant in griffiths not getting on the pitch as neil seems undecided on a starting striker.
fingers x'd the dip is out of the way. cup final to come, then just 2 competitions to concentrate on. no winter break this season i recall? |
tom english, 2 days ago... |
a changing of the guard? something has gone in the older heads. rangers 13 ahead [extra point for massive goal diff], played 2 more, its theirs to lose.
the big diff between this year and last year to my mind is fraser forster absence, other than the non crowds/international duty covid test positives previously suggested
wiki still says fraser has made 0 appearances for southampton this season! what a waste...
celtic would absolutely kick themselves to lose the league this season only to win it back in 2022 with the younger players coming through |
Soro, Turnbull and Hazard should start.
I think it may be another draw on sunday. |
a much changed side to beat lille 3-2
Celtic 65 Hazard 35 Ajer/Welsh 2 Jullien 4 Duffy 30 Frimpong/Henderson 12 Soro 42 McGregor 93 Laxalt 14 Turnbull/Rogic 27 Elyounoussi 11 Klimala/Ajeti
Substitutes 1 Barkas 3 Taylor 8 Brown 9 Griffiths 10 Ajeti 18 Rogic 22 Edouard 29 Bain 52 Henderson 53 Harper 57 Welsh
injury list: forrest/johnston |
cel 0-1 st johnst 10mins to go, that's prob the title gone! 1-1 ft |
Ryan Christie has been rubbish so far |
Lol. Midway through 1st half and its AC Milan 2 Celtic 2
Celtic managed to hold on to a 2-0 lead for about 10 minutes before the inevitable collapse. This could be another cricket score |
laudrup,
-- scottish cup final is coming up, a great opportunity to dig in and unite and lift the club. get fraser back, then just concentrate on the league and scottish cup for the rest of the season. then at the end of the season rebuild the squad through the youth players!
empty stadiums and international duty covid positives have not helped.
for celtic fans to be 'making a scene' after enjoying so much success is undignified. |
