24/6/2009 08:26 | Verger - Underlying eps actually better than that figure which included amortisation of intangibles:- "EPS adjusted for amortisation of intangible assets increased 25.1% to 44.57 cents per share (2008: 35.62 cents per share)" The control of costs are particularly impressive. However, there are some negatives. First, the headline figures exclude the operating loss and termination cost of the disontinued operation. Secondly, the figures for IVT are the poorest of the three divisions casting some doubt on the acquisition decision although synergies and cross-selling opportunities may outweigh this negative. Finally, in my very brief scan I saw no mention of a dividend. | boadicea

15/5/2009 20:20 | "Jeremy Barnes brings with him a wealth of corporate finance experience, which will provide very valuable knowledge for our business". Presumably it helps to have a few heavyweight contacts when it comes to M&A activities and deciding what to do with all the cash that they expect to generate. He might also help in getting board to focus on getting reinvested profits to produce higher returns. | bookworm1
