14/9/2007 13:38 | v, I don't think it matters who the bankers are... No banks like lending at the moment, especially at low rates to companies with an air of uncertainty about them... If C & C do sort out their financing, they may get well and truly stung ! | musashi san
14/9/2007 13:37 | What's her address ?? Mind you, if it's been there 30 years+ it's probably worth all of 50p ! | musashi san
14/9/2007 12:58 | couldn't be my gran, she keeps it under the mattress. | ![]() anotherguru
14/9/2007 12:58 | I sincerely hope their bankers are not NRK :-) .. that would be a lethal combination. | v01101999
14/9/2007 12:42 | Actually, does anyone think this credit squeeze will seriously affect C & C ? I presume they are still negotiating with the banks... It just seems to be getting worse... like a pack of cards about to collapse. | musashi san
14/9/2007 12:38 | Lol! Could be your gran ag !! | musashi san
14/9/2007 12:31 | Aye, I hope they've got enough to pay for bodyguards ! | musashi san
14/9/2007 12:28 | i expect a rise in little old geordie ladies being mugged later! | ![]() anotherguru

14/9/2007 11:34 | Although... Sept. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Northern Rock Plc, which received Bank of England funding in the biggest bailout of a British mortgage lender in 30 years, received tentative inquiries from two potential rescuers, the London-based Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The ``white-knight'' approaches were from financial institutions that weren't identified, the newspaper said. | musashi san
14/9/2007 11:32 | NRK - The BofE has intervened when it said it wouldn't, and really shouldn't have. But now it's in the news, expect a run on deposits causing further pains. | musashi san
14/9/2007 11:29 | my only nagging concern so far is the stock on loan figure and such large size seem to indicate professional player. Typically an investment bank who is planning to underwrite a large equity placement or right issue at below market prices. This is only thing which is marked as "uncertain" in my list. | v01101999
14/9/2007 11:28 | ..........v - NRK imho is a very dangerous stock to hold. Shades of 1929 come to mind when investors were advised to buy "sound common stock", and "there has been no harm done to the banking system". I wouldn't touch NRK with a bargepole. | ![]() smelgy
14/9/2007 11:25 | anyone interested in NRK? same story as CART. The fall is definitely overdone. I have gone long at 520 and planning to add more on drops. On CART, I am holding on, yes, the volume has dried down but somehow I expect it to see more closer to 110 than 100 with a bias on positive breakout. | v01101999
14/9/2007 11:12 | Gone very quiet on these threads... I still think this will test, and maybe drop below £1 if no news is forthcoming soon... | musashi san
13/9/2007 14:01 | Cross thanks Oh Poo, think a T20 expires 10/10, still they should be £2 by then anyway...what with the bid to be announced tomorrow morning and all that.:@D Ref - agree absolutely. P | patricktrfc
13/9/2007 14:01 | On balance I read it that way too patrick. It's one of those situations where a little bit of good news should lead to better news and then hopefully a full recovery. The market for training is solid in my opinion. However to win new contracts - which tend to run for several years - the business needs to be able to instill confidence in it's survival. Therefore hopefully a new CEO and a few new contracts should lead to bigger contracts etc and all help to snowball the company out of trouble. If that happens there is little chance Cart will remain valued at only £44m. Even at half it's best old self we'd be looking at £250m, although I probably will have left the party by then. I see this share as a potential Regus, Charter-like recovery story and have placed my bets accordingly but until there is some news it's still flying on vapour. | ![]() references
13/9/2007 14:01 | L2 24k bid @108p vs 2.6k offer @108.75p | crosswire
13/9/2007 13:43 | Results were mid Oct last year, so possibly mid Oct this year. | crosswire
13/9/2007 13:08 | So the way I see it (A) A new CEO should be announced soon (B) banks will be supportive, otherwise they wouldn't shell out £1M on the new training centre. Worst I reckon would be a mildly discounted rights (they will still make £10M profit as per the update) (C) new contracts could be announced. Got to be a good 20% upward on current share price for any of the above happening. Bought T20, when's the results? P | patricktrfc
13/9/2007 12:59 | and stock on loan cross 6 MM figure. This is interesting. Seems like until the results, some big players are keeping a lid on the prices. Only a positive news would shake these shares out of this bear grip. | v01101999
13/9/2007 12:57 | it is quite fair to say that every one is waiting for the results announcement in oct before making a decisive move. CEO appointment might come with the results is my guess. | v01101999
13/9/2007 12:37 | Hi all, could anyone post a link to a list of major shareholders. Bear Stearns have increased their stake to over 3% in last few days, I'd be curious to know who are the other big guys on the ship, with special attention to those adding to their position. Thanks | mmaggiore
13/9/2007 12:00 | shortlist of 3 ?? love to know who they are | bronking |
