The only thing that surprises me is all the professional investors ect seem to be basing their comments on the financial fundamentals reported and yet they mean absolutely nothing anymore...its a completely new market now and one that they will struggle with..even if their rents are halved, be very careful here as its going to take some very clever management to pull through this

Maybe that's what Karen meant by increasing basket size ..... buy a b'day card, be sure to stock up on "Get well soon " cards ....or worse.... at the same time.

So I'm my town they are not using social distancing guidelines, no hand sanitizer and its a free for all with 20 in a space that at best should have 5 in.
As a result they are getting destroyed on local social media groups.
This will have a knock on effect.
Money over safety will not go down well. Especially when every other shop in town is following guidelines.

Thanks - went out of the all reports and the Annual Accounts options for June 20 and back to the front page - which has a small box saying recent results - and found them .....

Fenners66 - the 2020 accounts are posted (but for some odd reason not on the RNS part). If you go to their report and presentation tab and click 2020, they are there.

"Fenners66 - I agree it is better if people read stuff rather than coming up with conspiracy theories. Try page 70 of the latest accounts which sets out Karen’s notice period as 9 months. "

I would - I have been to their website - where the RNS 19-6-20 says

"The Annual Report and Accounts and the Notice of the 2020 Annual General Meeting will also be accessible later today via the Company's investor relations website www.cardfactoryinvestors.com."

But the latest accounts there is 2019.

A week later and still not added ?
Do they have a handle on anything ?

"More likely that the reason for the health insurance being in place to March 2021 is that the annual insurance period runs from 26 March 2020 to 26 March 2021. Simples."

26 Jun '20 - 14:53 - 2493

"Karen’s notice period as 9 months. Hence the 26March 2021 date. For the health insurance they will have stated that it runs to 26 June 2021"

So it was simples - until you changed your mind......

The only problem when we try and share information - a la Mallorca with his covenant info - is when the "facts" are misquoted or just wrong.

If she is only on 9 months notice I am surprised - that itself is odd.

Not the opposite - I agree I initially misread the dates in your post but the point remains the same that health insurance may be in place for up to a year as it is paid for a year in advance. You were the one suggesting a conspiracy that they had been negotiating her exit for 3 months.

Mallorca - I am sure they would have big struggle to survive if you were in charge...Take a look at your genius idea of it being "much better to pursue a 50% online strategy". They have GBP 432million offline sales and GBP19m of online sales. It is estimated (page 6 of the accounts) that the total online market is worth GBP180million - so even if they had 100%market share online it wouldn't get anywhere near 50% of their sales. There were 875m single cards sold last year of which only 8% were online (and 65% of those were personalised). That means 805million cards were sold in physical stores - where people want to buy them. Online cards are nothing new, I had lunch with Nick Jenkins to discuss Moonpig ten years ago - and online is still only 8% of the market by volume.

Hence the 26March 2021 date. For the health insurance they will have stated that it runs to 26 June 2021 at the latest because it will be on an annual contract and they didn't have time to check what date it runs from as they wanted the RNS to go out in a rush.
