For goodness sake hearts1 is just telling it as he sees it. He is invested and the points he has made seem well supported. Clearly not deramping just stating how he sees it. He is invested so from my point of view thanks for the info. I am still invested and happy to wait. I do not believe that Exxon would have been a part of this if they did not feel there was a good chance of commercial success. As someone said that seemed low at 19.5% but hasnt stopped them from proceeding. I AM IN!!!! Time will tell if I have picked a dog Rosseau Asset management are also confident so that is also good enough for me.

WJ, Edison - who I am sure you are aware are paid by Copl to publish the note, they are usually spot on with their information.

who wrote the research not, that COS looks low to me, given the FWI that Exxon
are using verified by three separate sources.
Exxon are throwing everything at this Seadrill west saturn three support ships
and a small cruise liner. suggest they expect better than 19%

It's worth mentioning that prospective resources could be well north of 400mmbbl,
which happened at RKH, Sealion, a target of 189mmbbl ended up around 750mmbl.
PANR is another example..

Mr K, here is the research note. COPL is funded through the upcoming Liberia exploration programme operated by ExxonMobil up to a maximum gross carry of US$120m. We expect this to include drilling of the Mesurado-1 prospect, which we estimate at a P50 prospective resource of c 400mmbbl and geological chance of success (GCoS) of 30% (commercial chance of success 19.5%). Under Liberian PSC terms, we estimate a development could generate a 37% gross post exploration and appraisal IRR, and be underpinned by an NPV10 break-even oil price of c US$35/bbl. Monetisation in the success case will be key in determining the value of a discovery net to COPL. We provide a valuation based on COPL farming-down (farminee requiring a 20% IRR) as well as a 'high case' valuation based on asset sale at NPV10 – possible in the event of a major/NOC seeking strategic basin entry.

No I'm here to stay, I'm long but I understand the risk. I don't really bother with intra day movements in share price during the drill either unless very high volume.Don't get me wrong the risk reward is very good , and Exxon partnership of course gives confidence.

I've just looked - commercial COS is 19.5%. Or in other words you have put tens of thousands of pounds into a drill that has 80% chance of failure.Don't listen to the rampers on here, look at the facts.

A bit rampy - what's the COS for this drill? You could also lose a lot of money for balance. You have far to much money in here for a wild cat drill.

There is no point taking a little profit with a drill program of this size and suffering the emotional turmoil of watching daily that you could have turned your investment into at least a 10-bagger when we strike one of the biggest oil finds for sometime across the global exploration market. Risk v reward - of course there is downside risk but there is bloody huge upside reward.

Thanks MrK.
Any idea what the hell is going on here? Just keeps on going down. Got to change soon surely?

Richard,

I would imagine that some have taken the view that a placing is coming.

Personally I can't see one coming, whilst at a minimum of 15 days into what could be a 30 day + well. Announcing a placing would be regulatory nightmare IMO, I could well be wrong, but that's my view.

The other explanation, could possibly be existing shareholders in at lower levels reducing exposure prior to drilling results, a common practice.
