See below- from last July. Why is River Capital PTY increasing its stake ( see yesterday'RNS) . River Capital PTY owns The Cheesecake Shop. Imo 250p bid imminent British bakery chain Cake Box Holdings has rebuffed an offer from a privately-owned Australian company to take over the company.The chain released a statement in response to press speculation after Sky News reported that The Cheesecake Shop offered to purchase Cake Box for 160 pence a share.Cake Box, which trades from around 230 locations across the UK and specialises in egg-free products, was valued at 150 pence per share when the market closed on Wednesday (19th).The Cheesecake Shop is owned by Melbourne-based River Capital.The chain confirmed the existence of the offer, which it said was made in early June. However Cake Box said its board had "unequivocally rejected" River Capital's offer, describing it as "materially undervaluing" the company.It added that no further discussions with River Capital had taken place.Last month, Cake Box revealed plans to almost double the size of its store estate

Midas verdict: Cake Box specialises in egg-free, fresh-cream cakes, popular with consumers who do not eat eggs for religious or dietary reasons and anyone else with a sweet tooth. Midas recommended the shares at £1.38 in 2019. They have been on a rollercoaster ride since then but the price seems too cheap. Some analysts believe the business could attract predators if the shares do not pick up soon.

Adding a standard premium of 30-40% gives 240-250p.
I think this would be seriously considered.

Hi Justiceforthemany - you've always been right. There was v heavy buying at £1.70 but buyer seems to have paused for the minute A great update imminent imo
