Well said Topical- your right, just humon nature kicking in, dont know why im moaning this morning, my portfolio as a whole has done well from April 2009 to know after taking a bit of a bashing between april 2008 - april 2009. and this year so far things are looking OK its just as you said we seam to forget the stocks we decided not to buy and then dive, and sometimes forget the stocks purchased that are doing ok, my mind sadly focuses on those recent decisions that turned out wrong, but hey no one gets it right all the time, I just wish I could get it right more times than i already do, and thats not many, LOL.

Youve cheered me up buddy. HA.

Yes indeed K, similar sob-stories for me about 'might have beens', but as I'm sure you know, we should never look back in anger (as someone may have once said, lol) and accept missed opportunities sanguinely. Rarely do we recall the stocks that dived that we didn't dip into at the last minute!

All that nonsense aside, I will hold until this is settled one way or the other just out of sheer bloodymindedness!

Always said the dividends will be some consolation and this share will be back in play at some stage in the not-too-distant future even if they hold off Kraft this time around. A big if now, I regret to say.

Krafy Kraft! Selling a Pizza Division to Nestle and thereby not only raising cash to use to increase that component of their offer and the SP-value, but also getting Nestle to confirm they aren't interested in Cadbury as the clincher!

Now, we only have Hersheyor Hershey/Ferrero in the mix - unless a Private Equity outfit are looking in. I am starting to think this may not go for much above £8.00 after all, and perhaps it has indeed been a wasted time Kumala???

I'll hold for the remainder however as I still dislike handing it to Kraft and I doubt it will fluctuate much from here whatever happens. The City have priced £8.00 minimum imho; who were we to second-guess them for £8.50. Ha!

The game isn't entirely over but I agree the opportunities for this cash look good elsewhere. Myself I'm seriously considering taking an entitlement over at the oil minnow RRL. A day or two to join in I think...

Cheers.

lets get this party into full swing ey Topical, higher bid from Kraft, then whoosh bang counter bids from the white knights with a finish price of circa £9 (£8.50 plus has got to be good, and I will be reasonably happy with that) been tied up to long hear now and even at £9 i would not be making as much as if i had invested in other stock i have had my eye on, never mind ey all nature of the game.
Good luck budy, and Happy new year to you.

Oh, and out of principal I'll be checking carefully not to buy Kraft muck - err, spread - etc. It may not be much, but bad feelings towards a hostile company can be as harmful in the long run as not messing about and offering the right deal from the off. Many may think that way...

when was the last time that cadbury made a loss?

I think that even 12 Pounds would undervalue this company.

How much is brand value worth?

Dont know what their train of thought is, it just does not make the deal interesting in the way its been structured, let alone the value, am sure we will hear of more interest from the other party's soon, were not dead in the water yet, but from my point of view I would like to get this done and dusted as soon as possible.

Just received - forwarded - the Kraft offer letter and information from my broker.

It beggars belief that they've the brass neck to send it! Not only will they give us less than we can currently sell for in the market, but taking Kraft shares would involve opening a US Trading Account to be able to access and trade the K shares that are US Securities in New York of course. Nice costs and charges not to mention restrictions and currency fluctuation problems...

Your average Cadbury shareholder, like me, will not be keen or impressed. Just what is their game???

Still no to Kraft. £8.50 and some commitments may sway me. Perhaps.

Same old stuff spouted about synergies etc. etc. by Kraft.

Reality is they're struggling in their own business and like any large business, the only option they've got is to infect some other businesses with their lack of management ability and lack of imagination.

How these asset stripping downsizers can ever appear on programs claiming to be entrepreneurs is laughable.

Oh yeah, I remember, they save jobs by stopping the company going under don't they.

There is a certain irony here, that Cadbury have actually already moved some manufacturing to Poland in a manufacturing rationalisation. Because manufacturing is the easy thing to sqeeze.

So the admin, marketing etc. departments haven't been squeezed as much but a load of factory workers lost their jobs.

Now, if the tables turn and Kraft take over, the only things that actually might be safe for some time are the factories.

Purely because its much easier to downsize admin, marketing and other functions that can be centralised, than it is to up and move an entire manufacturing unit.
