Now official bid, not bid approach everyone knows this will be rejected, pasting shot by Kraft, next offer is 810p. We need a white knight to come in.

Have only used cfd's previously with Barclays and you cant be long and short at the same time. Wil open a spread bet a/c if it allow that!

According to U.K. takeover rules, by launching a formal offer Monday, Kraft has set in motion a 28-day deadline for it to publish a prospectus on the offer for Cadbury shareholders.

Its not over yet by a long chalk.

The U.S. company has as many as 60 days to collect enough shares to seal the deal from the day it publishes its prospectus.

Kraft must make its final offer by day 46. It can increase the offer as many times as it likes up until this date, but not lower it.

Cadbury can issue new information which would have a material impact on the takeover situation up until day 39 of the offer period.

This could flush out one or more further bidders.

this will go through if there is a market correction.
the $ is weak right now, if it strengthens that will increase the offer also.
kraft can play this long, it is a full offer.

Well it could have been worse and Kraft walk away from the deal, the share price would be no where near where it is now, thats for sure.

I am glad though that Kraft didn't walk away. At least now this is officially in play, and the share price should be supported at current levels.

However the waiting game continues, either for a higher offer or a third party bidder to emerge.

I have a straddle in place smurf, long and short at same time, different closing periods, this will swing all ways for days, one can win if quick enough short or long

I think thats what most think talon13 and hence the share price remaining strong, the thoughts might be that it is expected Kraft will come back with another offer.

Cadbury has just said Board to meet today before responding. No time-frame given.
