17/7/2015 11:51 | A more detailed report | frankiethecabbie
17/7/2015 11:48 | By Nick Goodway - Although there are some overlaps, the two businesses fit well together. Bwin will bring 888, which is strongest in poker and casino games, a strong and fast-growing sportsbook. While 888 is particularly strong in the UK, bwin.party’s largest market is Germany. The combined group will have licences in 14 jurisdictions and revenues of more than $1 billion (£640 million). That will give it extra firepower in the so-called “grey markets” of eastern Europe where regulation is only just starting to be introduced. | loganair
17/7/2015 11:26 | gvc and bpty are working together, blah blah blah. 2 weeks ago 888 and bpty are working together, blah blah blah. today. anyone else care to join in. | stephen1946
17/7/2015 11:13 | It was reported that GVC had offered 110p per share and Peel Hunt said that Bwin choosing the lower offer “suggests that there is greater confidence in the equity upside from 888.” The broker said the price for 888 was “reasonable The two companies' board said that by combining both businesses, they 'anticipate that the enlarged group will benefit from significantly enhanced scale, an enhanced product offering and significant cost and revenue synergies'. The boards added that the combination will save at least $70m per annum (before tax) by the end of the 2018 financial year. | loganair
17/7/2015 11:05 | Stephen, yesterday you said you were out! I'm guessing you must have this as some sort of spreadbet or CFD. | hubshank
17/7/2015 11:04 | Thanks Cheshire If there were one shareholder that owned 55%, we would surely know about it as they would then become a majority shareholder and have to be listed as such and would therefore have a majority casting vote? Badtime, £1.25 / £1.30 I think would have been the price if we were working in sterling, but the offer came in in US$ or €'s so with the conversion it brought it down. (that is how I viewed it anyway) but as I said, had the two US states been imminent, I would have expected "extra" for the done deal. Somebody wise posted that BPTY already operating on a PE of 20, and with nothing concrete to back it up it does seem quite high. That said, when you view 888's marketing strategies, if they are indeed correct, they have bagged themselves a bargain IMHO. The potential remains undoubtedly positive with huge growth opportunities, but the risk to BPTY at coming in at another loss this year is possibly too great, and what do they have left to sell off? I am really very happy to go with 888 as beyond a name change and endless synergies, it is business as usual as far as I am concerned - now just get on with the paper work and let us all move on! | hubshank
17/7/2015 11:04 | The real Stephen1946 thinks this still has legs, my 230k says turkeyburger can get some paxo. No way does this get voted YES. I think turkey is very inexperienced in the ways of the market, similarly I am a bit surprised at 888, to think this would pass GO. Amaya will up the cash element, maybe even £1.20, plus I don't suppose 888 will roll over, this saga is going on. | stephen1946
17/7/2015 10:42 | Well Hubs i thought 125/130 so i guess i'm way out too. | badtime
17/7/2015 10:40 | I understand that the new RNS service for the LSE is via the journalists of the financial times and sunday times. I will need to get different subscriptions to keep up to date. | timanglin
17/7/2015 10:36 | Bwin's chief executive Norbert Teufelberger, will not be joining the board of 888 but will provide it with consultancy services. Mr NT will make a packet from his consulting fees... | loganair
17/7/2015 10:29 | Good morning Mr Srpactive - nothing light a few pleasantries and some good manors around the office - manors cost nothing! :-) (Mrs) Cheshire, how to you come by what I would consider "insider" info? ie if it is in the public domain, where do you go to find it? or is it reported in one of the press and I have just missed it? | hubshank
17/7/2015 10:23 | Good morning miss hubshank | srpactive
17/7/2015 10:21 | It seems that the board have got around 12% support for the deal so far so it doesnt really seem like a done deal at the moment which is unusual. Boards normally like to have the shareholders all stitched up before announcing anything. Also accepting 104p and not 109p is unusual. Seeing that 75% of shareholders have to agree to the deal maybe it will actually be voted down, leaving GVC to make a revised winning bid of 98p? CM. | cheshiremoggie
17/7/2015 09:56 | I have to say Badtime, I thought we might have got significantly more - closer to Stephens valuation, but that was based on the fact that CA and PA were imminent, ie we were expecting a positive ruling in June and to be trading in those markets by year end: When the dates got pushed back, and we again entered no-mans-land, I decided it was a conspiracy theory between the US and AYA before AYA got their grubby mitts on BPTY on the cheap! :-) We will get there in the end, it is just very dull waiting. | hubshank
17/7/2015 09:50 | Wheres this 180/240 that Stephan talked about ...whistle... | badtime
17/7/2015 09:48 | BPTY should be forced to put out an RNS because 888 have already RNS.d the deal & it is now being reported in the press. S/holders obviously don't count. | eeza
17/7/2015 09:38 | well deserved also. | stephen1946
17/7/2015 09:37 | you have a valid point Gotno.... contact them and ask the question and let us all know what they say. They have not once replied to my questions as a PI. | hubshank
17/7/2015 09:36 | For what it is worth, I am pleased it is 888 that have won. Clearly the cruise around Gib on the company yacht last weekend was worth it! I believe their will be more security in our beleaguered investment within the markets 888 operate and greater transparency for shareholders, as opposed to GVC/AYA whereby anything could happen whilst we were sleeping and there would be nothing we could do about it. special divi went to pay Norbert his weekend o/time rate. | hubshank
17/7/2015 09:27 | What I wonder became of our £35m sale of WPT, special divi ? | gotnorolex
17/7/2015 08:59 | its bullsh*t is what it is! Wait a year for this 888 is solid BPTY is a dog with fleas and they aint worth much......ffs could have sold everything at loads more and saved the boredom....Norbert shuffleberger being retained as consultant yeah whatever......once a month lunch maybe. | finkie |
