Holding very nicely around this 48p mark. Creating a launch pad for the next rocket??

I don't think so but I will agree that Bird meets that description. Not quite in the same league of ineptness as Andrew Bell at RRR/RGM or Jim Williams (ex) at AGQ but still lacking in 'eptness'.

But that isn't the only asset it has.

It's not terrible JC, that company has just overpromised and underdelivered for too long. 10s of millions wasted. £30mm mkt cap is too much for that asset.

Whilst I agree with your opinion of Bird (he is terrible) I actually think that JLP have a good model and Kabwe is quite a valuable asset. Whether JLP shareholders will ever see that value is another matter. Is it comparable to BMN in any way, shape or form? No.

OK... all analogies break down at some point. In the case of property v shares (especially AIM shares) the main problem is risk. A number of small properties distribute risk, but the risk shouldn't be all that high to start with. A large single property (the number of flats is immaterial beyond the revenue), is a single point of failure (eg. Grenfell Tower), but being property, the risk is insurable.

If you diversify a single successful share (BMN) into multiple other shares, you will be largely adding losers to your portfolio (most AIM shares especially, are losers). Hence the expression, 'run your winners'. At some point you can (if you like) sell BMN and buy property. As ever, timing is everything...
