Plat Hunter,

The best you are going to currently get on interest and depreciation/amortization is from the interim results. It may not be the full year (we are going to have to wait for that) but it is indicative. I think that you will find the (pro rata) figures are somewhat lower than $80m.

If memory serves me correctly it was stated that contamination of the battery had happened so no real surprise. just you picking at parts of info to suit you.

As for PH, you are really too intelligent (NOT)

I posted for those that may be intrusted in the co.

So good news suggesting that the VRFB has been operational for 10 days. Only a further 3 weeks later than the end of year revised target date. No wonder we didn’t get an RNS stating it was up and running before now. More revised targets missed.

How do you know when Fortune is lying? His lips move!!!

Eskom concludes a R15bn loan facility with a consortium of lenders

MEDIA STATEMENT

Friday, 01 February 2019: Eskom has concluded a R15-billion credit facility with a consortium of local and international banks. The government guaranteed facility will form part of the financing of Eskom’s current capital expenditure programme.

“We have made significant progress in transitioning the business and securing funding. We are pleased that lenders have elected to continue partnering with Eskom on our journey to complete the capital expansion programme for the benefit of South Africa’s economy. It is also encouraging to see that financial markets continue to view Eskom in a positive light; as we progress towards financial and operational sustainability”;, said Phakamani Hadebe, Eskom’s Group Chief Executive.

Andre Pillay, General Manager Treasury said: “the conclusion of this facility will ensure that Eskom’s liquidity requirements are timeously fulfilled. To date we have raised and secured approximately 95% of the R72 billion funding requirement for FY18/19; the remaining 5% will be raised through various funding sources including domestic debt capital markets. The stable liquidity position places us in a position to focus on securing funding for the next financial year (FY19/20 of which 30% has already been secured).”

Bushveld Minerals* (BMN LN) 37.3p, Mkt Cap £416.8m –Investor site visit to Eskom highlights potential for new growth

Bushveld took a group of investors to see the Eskom test site for new battery storage installations yesterday
Eskom are looking to install some 800MWh of new battery capacity in an initial phase to support renewable energy projects across South Africa and have been testing battery facilities for some years.
The new battery facilities are likely to come from a mixture of lithium-ion and vanadium redox depending on Eskom site requirements, needs of the South African power system and the results of current trials with each type of battery suitable for differing applications, among other factors.
Vanadium Redox batteries are seen as better for larger-scale operation with longer duration and deeper energy discharge.
There is some $200,000 worth of vanadium in the UET battery, the size of a 20 ft shipping container, installed jointly with the Industrial Development Corporation, highlighting the cost component and importance of the vanadium in the battery. Fortunately the proposed ability to lease finance the vanadium should enable the low cost effective rental of vanadium for rolling out new battery facilities.
Eskom plan to run various protocols (trials) for 18-24 months and while they may start to order larger scale vanadium batteries for grid use in the meantime they may also discover further ‘grid’ applications for this type of battery which may increase the amount of vanadium storage they choose to order.
If Eskom sees that it works and starts using it, other utilities and large customers will follow suit, opening up the market for energy storage and vanadium.
Conclusion: Bushveld Energy should have a good future depending on the completion of the trials which have had a good start and have run for 10 days so far.

EBITDA is such a meaningless figure now for this company Coldspring.

People want to know what the actual cash in the bank is, the net margins if you will. If interest and amortization is equal to say 80 million for the year then 20 million profit for all this hard work is not much of a buffer against such a volatile metal like vanadium

Until it's reported in the audited accounts or BMN come out and actually say what the total costs of the year are then it's just more uncertainty on top of the missed production targets

Dont forget the ebitda of over $100million. Yes the price of vanadium did fall but has now very much stabilised but you know this yet continue to try and create fear and put PI's off buying by posting here. Presumably all to assist your short position.

Agree, if it can bounce of 36 from here with some meaningful volume then that could indicate that the wider market had already priced in the production shortfalls and V price.

36 is such a key test now

I think there's enough liquidity on the bid to make this relatively unexciting and volumes are pitiful. Just a slow drift imo for the moment

Headline - "President Cyril Ramaphosa is hoping to announce the new shape and size of Eskom in his state of the nation address on February 7..."

So, the recovery studies have been done and the recommendations (pretty much all breaking Eskom up into seperate parts, generation, transmission etc) have been delivered. But... The unions are hostile to any move that reduces the vast parasitic over-staffing and Zuma's ANC fraction won't like losing their biggest gravy-train. 2019 is also an election year. What chance Ramaphosa risks upsetting anyone?...

Knuttie, best let the 10-15% traders enjoy their moment in the sun. As history has shown us, the share price will do whatever the market dictates, however patience as always, is key.
Our time will come very soon and when it does, the 10-15%ers will have little to say.
Nothing else to say today as I have better things to do than have dialogue with certain folk.

Afritin’s production was actually due to start by the end of Q2 so the delay is unfortunate even if there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Delays are endemic in the mining world (I can’t think of many companies where it hasn’t been the case). I assume they must all have common DNA.
