25/7/2018 08:32 | I feel truly miserable for you guys. I hope something comes of this. | cockneytrader
25/7/2018 08:19 | The exact thing happened over at Vectura, director buying then takeover rumours!! | dp1umb
25/7/2018 08:18 | This is a welcome respite although I wouldn’t get too excited at this stage as, given the time of the year, it seems to me very unlikely that anyone would launch a bid at the beginning of August. As also noted above, clearly he Board had no clue given the recent shares purchase. This could just be a ‘silly season’ Pump and Dump rumour OR I suppose there could be something in it? Looking at the share price action yesterday, it seems clear that the story came out of the US (home of the Pump and Dump!) but, but, but, if there is ever a bidder, they are much more likely to come from the US than anywhere else, and as pointed out above, they will strike when the £/$ exchange rate is low, and when the UK market undervalues the company’s prospects, which it is presently doing - massively. I suspect there are a few companies out there watching... possibly even including J&J?? If they were optimistic about a long term revenue stream from Zytiga, they could buy BTG, close out the royalty stream and sell on the rest - simple but effective arbitrage ... | spyder
25/7/2018 08:13 | Fake news - it's a pity! | cockneytrader
25/7/2018 08:05 | Damp squib ref. opening price. | cockneytrader
25/7/2018 07:56 | So what the price , would not be surprised if it only one bidder it's about £6.30 . Though suspect there maybe two or three interested then it's anything up to £10. All imho. | bargainbob
25/7/2018 07:49 | Hope so , grabbing it with both hands , though word of caution it has happened a few times before and came to nought . Though with the low pound against the dollar it does seem an idea time. | bargainbob
25/7/2018 07:46 | You guys have been thrown an opportunity. Best of luck. | cockneytrader
25/7/2018 07:42 | One of Britain’s most prominent healthcare companies shot to the top of the FTSE 250 amid speculation that it was being considered a takeover target. BTG closed up 6.7 per cent, or 33¼p, at 529½p as rumours spread of preparations for a bid. The company’s share price has tumbled by 30 per cent since the start of the year, a fall that accelerated amid reports of a £102.8 million operating loss for the year to the end of March. BTG took a £144.7 million charge after delays with Pneumrx, its emphysema treatment, which subsequently failed to win backing from a key panel of the US Food and Drug Administration. | bargainbob
25/7/2018 07:39 | A textbook reason for never 'shorting' a stock. | cockneytrader
25/7/2018 07:34 | Presume the board didn’t have solid knowledge of it if the non-exec bought shares. Hostile bid? Hope serious effort is put into the pushing up the price, rather than all energy being dedicated to severance packages. Might not be true though, merely a rumour? | semper vigilans
25/7/2018 07:15 | Nothing like a good rumour when everybody is out of the office!Should provide some interesting trading today. | fhmktg
25/7/2018 07:12 | It's the only way out! | cockneytrader

23/7/2018 13:36 | Good study results at a reputable conference; EKOS rapidly moving to become the gold standard treatment with low doses of clotting medication.Good news for insurers payment systems as well. | fhmktg
19/7/2018 17:49 | Or a decent CEO | bargainbob
19/7/2018 15:51 | Had a chat with a director after the meeting and the impression is that they are in no way giving up on Varithena. They are quite certain that the procedure is definitely better than any alternatives at present. They just have to convince more practices of the benefits. Overall a useful AGM and I'll hang in there for a little longer. There is some good stuff in the BTG portfolio I am just a little concerned that they are lacking the best marketing skills to drive the business in the fast lane. | txi
19/7/2018 14:37 | Somebody likes us.....376k bought. | fhmktg
19/7/2018 12:28 | You can be certain that when a sizeable proportion of institutions vote against remuneration proposals, large investors feel that the management are being overpaid for the results they're producing.BTG joins Inmarsat in that unhappy camp. | steeplejack |
